I have always liked train models but not that much. Never owned one or never been to any exhibition. Went to this museum mainly because of my husband and I don't regret. It's great! Especially the main hall with the huge train model set. You...More

A good day for the kids with a good display, plenty to see and learn about the history of Japanese rail, not really for adults.

As noted by others, this museum has a wonderful, extensive collection and terrific working model train setup. The best part (for which you need to reserve a time slot on entering the museum) is donning an engineer's hat, sitting at a realistic throttle, and guiding...More

As you might expect there were lots of little children. It seems young children share a love for model trains around the world. Something some of us never outgrow, as was the case with the Mr. Hard, the museum’s founder and builder/collector of the train...More

I'm not a train enthusiast at all. But upon seeing the giant displays with the trains running through...I was so blown away and I just stood there with the binoculars staring and staring at the tiny figures, the trains, the details of the tiny buildings...More

The model trains made by Nobutaro Hara are a work of art requiring real craftsmanship, and you can tell how good he is by looking at the amount of intricacy and detail in each model engine on display. Good for both casual visitors and hobbyists....More

Definitely the biggest display of model trains and railway systems we’ve ever seen. Really impressive that one man could collect everything rail including ticket stubs. Our son loved operating the model trains and having a go at being a train driver.
