Nice bustling area, welcome to the biggest Chinatown in Japan! has a couple of main roads, you can easily see on the maps around the area. Don't forget to checkout the Chinese Temple, it's pretty unique! price of restaurants tends to be high compared to other Chinatowns around the World, it's a very touristic area afer all, enjoy!

Red paper lanterns, bustling people and many smells of fresh food being made as you walk through corridors of winding streets. There are stores to pop into and get trinkets or just people watch.

I took Tokyu-Toyoko line (Minatomirai Line - continue from the same vehicle) until last stop and alight Follow the sign board and look out for Chinatown (中华街)exit Easy to identify. I like the 生煎包the most.

Amazing area, dizzy and confused, magmatic and immersive..shops of any kind, oddities, smells and food, pandas and fortune tellers in the same area! An incredible melting pot that makes your curiosity boil! An unmissable mix of postmodernism and chinese elements as contradictory as only japan can be :)

On weekends it is better to avoid Chinatown due to enormous crowds everywhere and long lines to all restaurants. Restaurants' employers are not welcoming to foreigners

Aside from a few Chinese looking arches I wouldn't really say this is a genuine Chinatown! Most, if not all the restaurants and bars are Japanese.

I visited Yokohama Chinatown with some friends during my recent business trip to Japan. To our disappointment, it didn't live up to our expectations as it's supposed to be the biggest Chinatown in Japan. There are a lot of Chinese restaurants selling Xiao Long Bao and fortune-telling parlours. We had expected to find many shops selling knick-knacks and souvenirs but... More

Biggest China town in Japan with loads of activities round the year. Proximity to Yamashita bay and Motomachi street makes it a perfect place to visit during the weekend.

A great wander after dark to see the local restaurants and life. Probably one of the cleanest Chinatown districts I have visited (well it is Japan after all). Good restaurant options plus classic Chinatown gate. Worth a wander if you are staying locally.

During my last business trip to Japan, I stayed at an AirBnB that was located on the edge of Chinatown. Chinatown or Chuckgai in Japanese is a cluster of streets where almost every business is a Chinese restaurant. If you like Chinese food, the variety is endless. During my visit, I at at 4 of them, each different and each... More
