    Bustling Chinese enclave
The largest Chinatown in Japan is at the port city of Yokohama. The bustling neighborhood is full of Chinese eateries and boutiques. In contrary to popular conceptions (or misconceptions), it is neat and clean. Do come during weekends to experience its vibe to its fullest!

A taste of china in Yokohama to explore
Lively area lots of good restaurants and food vendors to visit. Enjoyed squid on a stick and the strawberries. Can get busy but worth exploring. We were here early evening not sure how it gets in the night. Some lovely shops to browse.

    Colourful temple and expensive restaurants.
Indeed this China town is the cleanest Chinatown in the world. But everything is very expensive and you need to be careful not to spend too much money. Historically interesting and it is surly worth visiting but I would not have lunch here. In Yokohama you will not have difficulty in finding good and authentic Chinese restaurants outside the China town.

    The largest Chinatown
Yokohama's Chinatown is the largest Chinatown I have visited. There are many restaurants featuring dishes from various regions of China and Taiwanese cuisine, making it hard to decide which one to enter. Buying fried chicken and desserts and walking around while eating is also a very enjoyable experience.

    Nice food and great vibe
This place had a good vibe and it was very clean. There are many opportunities for good pictures. Food was really yummy too! Do not jump and buy food in the first stall you see, many stalls actually sell the same food and some stalls in the smaller streets actually sell the same food at a cheaper rate.

True to be the biggest Chinatown in Japan
The bustling Chinatown in Yokohama is really very big. Full of all kind chinese shops and restaurants of all kind of chinese food. We tried the dumplings and tasted quite good. The good food stalls are crowded with long queue. The new year lanterns and new year decosrations are very chinese.

    Energetic Chinatown
Yokohama, Japan, Chinatown is vibrant and wonderful for foodies. Many sellers of street food. The panda baos are delicious when they just come out. Dough are soft and pillowy. Different fillings in them: shark fin, braised pork, spicy meat, minced pork, vegetable, bean paste, cranberry custard, and chocolate custard. Don’t miss the Peking sliders too. Set menu lunches in restaurants were quite reasonably price if you want a sit down experience. Lots of palm readers there too. IMO, one of the cleaner Chinatown in the world.

Recommended for solo travellers, couples and families. This is a charming Chinatown, super clean, packed with take-away shops and restaurants. We visited between 2-4 pm and it wasn’t very busy. Rest menus have photos but not text in English.

One of the nicer Chinatowns I've walked through, on the way to the Yokohama Gundam Factory. Definitely felt more like a neighborhood, than a tourist trap.

For our last night in Japan after a ten day trip, we stayed in Yokohama and had dinner by eating street food in Chinatown. We had the giant flat piece of fried chicken thigh meat and fried squid which were amazing and had such wonderful spices. We had sesame balls, strawberries and grapes on a stick, all of which was so perfect. The only mistake we made was trying to get boba teas. My son ordered mango with tapioca bobas and I had brown sugar with tapioca bobas and an oreo cookie. Do not get either one!

Instead of brown sugar, they use straight molasses with no sweetener, thinking that's the same as brown sugar. I gagged and had to throw it away, it is so bad. The mango has no mango flavoring or mangos, and had a really bad taste. We spent the rest of our last night trying to get the taste out of our mouths with no luck. It is so beautiful area though with so many shops and vendors, many of which sell the same things for the same price.

There are palm readers and fortune tellers everywhere, we can't speak Japanese so we stayed away from them. Also, if the Japanese school kids are there like they were for us, many will play pigeon stomping which is a horrible 'game'. They don't catch them most of the time at least.

Great way to spend an evening though! Beautiful and amazing cheap food, just don't go expecting American Chinese food, this is Chinese with a Japanese twist.
