It was one of hot days in typical Japanese weather. The quality could not be said that top but bearable for the price and its location. 200 yen per hour for adult.

It seems that the time has stopped since Showa era.

One of advantage was its location just 5 minute walk from busy Motomachi shopping area.

This is a well-kept small park on a gentle slop leading down the hill towards Motomachi. It's peaceful and picturesque, with some interesting old houses nearby, and the historical remains of Alfred Gerard's tile and brick factory, which supplied large parts of this area of Yokohama soon after it opened to the West. Not a must-see, but a pleasant diversion from the bustle of Yokohama.

If you are Lucky you can watch from a foot-path traditional Archers shooting With their long bows and Arrows in tradtional costumes. They are shooting from a Club-house across a secluded lawn partly hidden by trees but you can get a good view from above.
You can also walk to the nearby graveyard where the famous founder of the Kirrin-beer is buried. He was in fact from Arendal in Norway. He introduced beer to Japan.

this area is known as dating spot but its just nice area for walk. when you visit there at night, you have a quiet place with night view from minato-no-mieru-oka park. however, the most shops and histric structures will be closed after 5pm.
by the street, yokohama foreign general park and keep walking so you will find many european style structures for european immigrants. and english garden, italian garden, etc

We drove here from Tachimachi Cape passing by very lovely looking houses. Suspecting we are near Motomachi area when we saw a large group of tourists walking around, we quickly parked at a small open air car park along the road. Though parking is not cheap at JPY300/hour, we thought we will make do as we are not familiar with the area. Lucky for us, we were parked near the Motoi-zaka slope which is closed to two key attractions – the old Hakodate Public Hall and the Old British Consulate. A fee is charged to enter the inner hall of both places, thus we just admired the exterior building structure, strolled around and took some pictures.

At the Old British Consulate, we decided to have an English style tea at the Victoria Rose Café. We ordered a pot of tea which the waitress said can serve two cups of tea, a scone with jam and butter; our bill comes up to JPY980. The table wares are beautiful china bone like those you would expect used in the early England days and the place is lovely and serene, simply loved the experience! If you do visit Motomachi, do plan an English tea break here.

Overall, we spend about 30mins taking in the sights and another 45mins for tea break. I would rate the Motomachi Park and the attractions a 6 out of 10. The park is scattered with memorable buildings and unless you are into photography, there’s nothing much to see. Another can skip if you do not have time.

Accidentally ended up here while looking for coffee in Motomachi. This place is extremely picturesque. Not sure what its like during the rest of the year but its amazing during hanami. The park is set on a hill near the Foreigners Cemetery and is a little haven from the business of Chinatown.
We walked around the almost deserted park in a flurry of cherry blossom petals, saw a gentleman in the full traditional get-up doing some archery in the center behind the pool. Saw the remnants of some of the first foreign houses in the area and an old brickworks.
If you are in Motomachi make sure you check this place out.
