After a ride in the ropeway it's a pleasant hour on the water. Nice view and overall enjoyable experience.

The ship sails from one end of Lake Ashi to the other end, with a stop on the way. It is a large ship, and probably because of that, the ship does not cruise close to shore. At a distance, we cannot see clearly the coastline features nor the lovely scenery. With so many tourists on board, looking for their... More

I liked it. It provided a great view of the lake and it was a comfortable way to travel instead of on a bus or train, all squeezy... Although I would make sure to purchase the 4000yen pass, otherwise paying separately, I probably wouldn't have done it. The first level is quite loud, I'd go up to at least level... More

My family was visiting for the holidays so we went to Hakone for a few days. The pirate ship is a must. Something cool to do on the lake. Easy to find & can park at the port.

This is a cool way to get around lake Ashi. It is a ferry to get you around the three major towns. The price is included in your Hakone Free Pass.

Enjoyable with great sceneries. We did a round trip and it took around 45mins. The upper deck have statues of pirates and great view of the lake.

The pirate ship is one of the transport modes you will use if you make a round trip using the Hakone one day pass. You also get to use cable cars, funicular railway and local train so it's well worth buying. The ship itself is ok, not authentic in case you thought it might be. It's a nice sail across... More

This ship can be found at the final stop of the Hakone ropeway, travelling along Lake Ashi. There is a second class and a first class deck and there is a pirate walking around entertaining the children. It looks spectacular and it is quite fun to travel on and watch the beautiful scenery during your 30 minute journey.

Great way to wrap up touring around Hakone to see the sites of the lake from water level. The boats are very cool (they run 3 different ones) and I found it a great way to transit from the southern part of the lake to the northern to get back to my hotel.
