It was a short visit before we drive to Kyoto. Had a best soba with tempura set meal there. Would recommend for a weekend trip for family and couple for a short getaway..

Although the cruise was nice, the clouds spoilt our view and we could not enjoy the view fully. I would suggest to buy the 3 day pass in Tokyo itself and it would then cover almost every mode of transport in Hakone.

The water is super clear and the air crisp as well. View of mount fuji available from some angles, the Hakone temple with the red gates over the lake is quite cool as well.

We visited Lake Ashi in spring nov'16 while doing the recommended hakone sightseeing route. It was drizzling slightly but luckily it stopped when we were taking the pirate ship cruise across the lake. The lake itself is very calm and serene with lots of hills/mountains surrounding the lake. In autumn it was also quite misty due to the light drizzle... More

Cruise is included in the Hakone Freepass. Just hop on & off to explore. Awesome view of Mt Fuji and Hakone Shrine Torii Gate, Also good to hop off to take the ropeway to Owakudani.

We had just enough time to check out the lake before catching the bus from Hakone to Odawara. The lake is so pretty, it makes a great picture when you are able to capture the pirate ship sailing in or out of the area. Be sure to catch the last cruise on the Pirate ship by 3:30PM.

We drove from Tokyo early morning and arrived before 11am. Traffic was heavy but enjoyable drive. Going up the hill, traffic was moderate and to us, we felt it was fun. The cruise was the cream of the trip. The air was clean and cooling (late fall) and could feel the clean waters in the lake. Very nice and very... More

we bought the hakone pass and the cruise was one of them! it was a big ship with 2floors i think? many seats are available and if u couldnt find one, no worries because the next port is only 10min away! u can enjoy the view from the balcony and i can tell u that the view is spectacular!!

We took the pirate ship as part of the circuit - lots of people taking selfies (of course), so if you want a selfie in front of a fairly tacky pirate statue then you will really love this part of the deal. We enjoyed the leisurely trip across the lake and being low season it wasn't crowded. Yes you can... More

Incredible scenery overlooked by Mount Fuji - a wonderful day spend crossing the lake, having lunch on the other side and visiting the art gallery with a wonderful picture window overlooking the lake and Mount Fuji ion the distance. You could sit there for hours just drinking in that view - we did!
