Gorgeous lake with plenty of attractions surrounding it. Hakone Shrine is the perfect place to snap good photos capturing the area’s beauty. It wasn’t terribly crowded when we were there, but it can get a bit chaotic at Motohakone - where the sightseeing cruise takes...More

The boat ride across Lake Ashi is a lovely experience. We caught the second ferry of the morning (large pirate like ship) and it wasn't overly crowded. The water was calm and the scenery was beautiful. When you board make your way up to the...More

The Lake Ashi cruise should not be missed if you have the 72 hour Hakone Free Pass. I definitely got more than what I paid for when I did the whole Hakone Tozan Train-Ropeway-Gondola-Pirate Ship Cruise (to and from Togendai). It was fun. (I love...More

We purchased the Hakone 72-hour pass which include the cable car, ropeway, and Pirate Boat around the Lake. It was well worth it and very unusual.

A large and beautiful inland lake assertions which many of Hakone's tourist attractions are dotted. The Hakone Checkpoint, Motohakone, the summer palace gardens, and too many restaurants, souvenir shops and hotels to count.

Nice scenery, volcanic lake, big enough for a nice boat ride. It was a bit chilly to stay on deck and the visibility from the inside is limited. Disappointed in the boat but not the lake.
