This is a shrine that wasn't mentioned in my travel book and it is close to the Mt. Hakodate Ropeway. I saw the locals touch the owl statues and pray but I didn’t see any English signage next to the owl so I don’t know...More

This was an interesting Shinto Shrine and better than most temples and shrines around. It was set well back from the road and was not as well kept as some but it was built in 1869. Well worth a visit
