Like normal bus...u board from the back doors and alight from the front. 1 day pass can be bought on the tram when u alight. Tram stops are conveniently located along many sightseeing places which makes it easy for tourists.

In Japan, it's rare that I take the tram... but in Hakodate, it was this transport that I always used. It goes to most of touristic places. I would suggest you to buy a day ticket (600yen), especially if you take the tram more than...More

I spent two days in Hakodate in October 2017 and used the tram extensively. Sure, I'll admit to being an enthusiast but the Hakodate tram is of interest to general tourists because it's both something of a time warp (as mentioned on most other reviews)...More

You can sit in the tram to enjoy the street view of Hakodate. It is a very unique and special tram as it is still in a very vintage design.

There are a few different types of trams or street cars in Hakodate and we rode all of them. They are very nostalgic and kind of noisy they way it used to be. Price is cheaper than a taxi and they cross all over town.

Not so far, 200-300 m, if you mean bay loop cruise ship (nice views etc). But if you mean ferry (to Aomori, for example) then, there is no tram stop around. Only by bus or car/taxi.
