Interesting place to visit. We took a walk around the whole place to get a feel of the structure of the fort, pretty interesting design. You can buy yummy ice cream inside the park.

Visited during end of May, and there wasn't anything in particular to see. Would probably be a great place to visit during sakura season though. There's also a pretty good soft serve ice cream available inside the park.

The history behind the park is very interesting but to see the look of the park means you should visit the tower! As a side note, the ice cream here is amazing

I visited the park after Sakura season and left minutes later. There's nothing to see when the Sakuras are gone.

Hi, thank you for sharing your Goryokaku Park review. I booked a Celebrity Millennium cruise to Hakodate May 10, 2017. I think ship dock is Minatocho. Do you have any suggestion how to get to Goryokaku park/Tower, Motomachi by bus/tram ? thank you.

Hakodate has an excellent tram system with a stop close to the park. It's about a 10 minute ride from the centre. Your cruise ship will probably provide a shuttle bus to the town. Enjoy Peter
