Nice small castle

It is a reconstructed small castle, but is nice to visit, after walking around the wonderful garden.

Pretty average displays for a small size castle, but pleasant enough. The Japanese garden in its grounds is really its saving feature. Just sit for a while and soak in the atmosphere.

We toured the gardens and did a little souvenir shopping. The area is known for its ceramics. If you are disabled your wheelchair can be used, just a little rougher ride. We very much enjoyed ourselves. Don't forget to get some souvenirs. They had very...More

This beautifully rebuilt building, faithfully in original style houses an interesting museum that tells of the castle and it’s history. Also stroll around the lovely gardens.

It is a nice place where you can can take a few pictures, but there is no main tower like in Himeji, Osaka or even Okayama. If you are in Toyama, you can visit it. It is not that far away from the train station....More

Although this castle is “average” in comparison to the other castles in Japan, the large green manicured lawn is a nice place to sit and relax. We saw a bunch of kids having an exercise class in the huge lawn with their parents taking videos...More

We were lucky enough to visit here on a warm spring day when the gardens and lake were at their best. Great photo opportunities, easy to get to by tram or bus, or even walking if you have the time. Worth visiting while in Toyama.

It's usally around 210 yen, but can be more if there is a special exhibition -- maybe 400 yen. We walked there from the main station. Note: there aren't any explanations in English...
