This place is up on the 3F of the Media Building, tucked away at one side of the floor. Some nice brews on keg. Not very busy when I visted, and last orders at 7.30pm, which seemed a little early. They do food, but there wasn't time to sample it. Seating a bit hard & uncomfortable.

Tucked away in a side street but if you're a beer lover, make the effort to find it. they have a small selection of crafted beers on tap and you can buy bottles too. The bar is on the ground floor and just big enough to swing a cat in. Nice staff, one of whom spoke good English, and some locals who were there on all three nights that we visited.
The only draft beer I didn't try was the stout (personal taste preference) but my wife assured me it was really good. We were only in Matsumoto for three nights otherwise I would have been in the bar even more!

Whilst wandering along Nakamichi Street looking for a bar we saw a sign pointing down a side street to the Matsumoto Brewery Tap Room. The place is only a few meters wide and easy to miss but what a great discovery. They have 5 different beers on tap and the Pale Ale was particularly good. The bar is on the ground floor and there are some tables upstairs but it is really small and intimate. The staff wear really friendly and spoke some English. Highly recommended if you fancy a craft beer whilst visiting Matsumoto.

The taproom is tiny and closes at 7pm (bizarre!). A better option is the branch at the Shinmai Media Garden (3F), which is open until 10. What makes this new place so great is the terrace with views down Ise-machi dori to the mountains beyond. Beers are a bit pricey (about ¥900 a pint after tax) but the outdoor setting makes it worth it.

When you need a break from sake! This brewery just opened a new spot more downtown on the 3rd floor with a great terrace.

We were greeted by a very friendly lady in the tiny bar and we were offered to sample the 5 beers on tap. They all are actually great tasting beers. My favorite was the pale ale, with a good touch of hops, the best bitter also very good, a bit more fruity than then the pale ale, I would have switched the names between the two of them.

We happened across this tiny little brewery. It consists of one counter with 3 pumps of different types of beer made at the brewery & small standing room only space that crammed in 20 people at the most. Everybody was very friendly & we had a great time mixing with locals & other tourists over a couple of beers each.
Highly recommmended

Nice little hole in the wall. You get there the easiest from Nakamachi-dori st. About half way down there will be a small sign which is easy to miss.
Staff is nice and friendly and offer up a good sized beer.
Downstairs has a nice pub feel to it, while upstairs is a bit drap.
However you put it, this place is great for having a finely crafted beer.

Stumbled across this place. Matsumoto brewery started last year and are producing very nice ales. The Porter was especially good. Seemed to always be a few friendly regular customers in there and when we asked the staff for restaurant recommendations they even booked for us. We went back the next day too. Very nice friendly atmosphere.
The owner also owns the English Pub and the wonderful cocktail bar COAT in Matsumoto.

Stumbled across this place on our way back to our hotel. Lovely little tap room and had a delicious beer. Sat upstairs - it’s very small but worthy of a visit
