This is quite a unique visit, as most geisha houses are still used or have been destroyed. A time slip to the Edo period.

Interesting building, collections of Geisha hair ornaments, musical instruments, kimonos, etc. The kitchen was particularly interesting. We were quite late in the day so one of the main rooms was closed.

The building is quite interesting to visit but I preferred Kaikaro, which is located nearby. NOTE: You are unable to take photos using an iPAD or iPAD mini at this site - smartphones are fine though.

From the exterior it blends in with the surrounding houses, but once you step inside it is a historical account of the life of a Geisha. Each room is well preserved and maintained. We did not choose to stop and enjoy the tea and sweets,...More

I definitely recommend having a good time in the quiet, warm and comfortable tea room. You can enjoy Japanese green tea and a little sweets in there. It only cost 700 yen!

It is not shiny as Chateau de Versailles, but shows the finest work of Japanese architects. The wood is carefully chosen to match each rooms. Ask the guides inside about the information
