Most days you have to get up early to experience the market in full flight but on Saturday we visited mid-morning and it was buzzing. We had breakfast here twice and both times it was great. One place has " the mountain" which is a real experience for lovers of fresh exotic seafood.

If you've seen other fish markets and produce markets, like those in Tsukiji, Tokyo, there won't be much here to impress. The prices are a bit high. It's fun to stroll through, even if you're not going to buy anything.

Just a stone's throw away from my ryokan. A well stocked seafood market and fresh produce. Market is a fraction in size compared to the one in Osaka but not lacking in food variety. Prices are also reasonably lower than major city markets. Less crowded and pleasant to navigate compared to Tsukiji.

Spend an hour or so walking around here: the sights and sounds are incredible, and the stall holders really friendly and polite.

We went early which I'd recommend as it isn't so crowded at that time of day. We managed to eat well here. Not only did I sample raw scallops which to my surprise were delicious, I tried the fresh orange juice drank straight from the orange and had pineapple and strawberries on a stick. It's also interesting just to watch... More

Since Kanazawa is a coastal city, the local market offers great selection of seafood and local produces. It reminds me of the Pike's market in Seattle excepts there were many mocha and sushi shops. This is a must visit for foodies.

If you have limited experience for a fish market, you might be excited to visit. Stalls and stalls of same old same old. Listed prices are astronomical and designed for affordable tourists. Restaurants are a hype, didn't see any good basic value. The other sundries stores are there for the existence. Well it's there and easily accessible.

We reached here past noon. The market is still crowded with people. After going one round, we saw they were having discounted prices for sashimi, some as much as 500 yen. Wow, great. So much sashimi, sushi, seafood and fruits.

If you have been to the fish market in Tokyo then think of this as a much smaller and , in a way, more accessible version. You can nibble your way through this market -- sushi and grilled seafood and all delicious. Just looking at all the seafood and produce is a marvel.

We came here in the morning and the place was already very crowded, with different stalls selling super fresh seafood of different varieties. The time of the year is good for crabs so there are many people coming to buy to bring back home. At the same time there are stalls selling oyster, deep-fried potato cakes, restaurants and other local... More
