Although the tour is in Japanese only, the brochure is very helpful and the guide is extremely well trained. We had a great time here, and have never been anywhere quite like it in Japan or anywhere else. Prepare for lots of steps and interesting...More

If you are going to visit any temple or shrine in Kanazawa, this is the one. The 40 minute guided tour must be booked in advanced. Have the info office at Kanazawa station or your hotel/ryokan make the reservation, usually at least one day ahead....More

Our tour guide made our reservations as you do need to do this. The guided tour is in Japanese only but the staff made sure we had a folder with an English description of each stop along the way. Not to be missed!

You must participate in a guided tour which is conducted in Japanese. As an English speaker, you are given an English guide which you return at the end. The construction and design are fascinating. I don't know if you can just walk in and get...More

This is a very special temple with lots of traps and hidden doors. You get an English guidebook which is well done, so you will understand everything.

This has nothing to do with Ninjas. If you enjoy looking at hidden chambers and secret escapes for 1000 ¥ a guided tour in Japanese and a very minimalistic guide in English then you should consider going.

ガイドとスタッフはとても無礼でした、もしかしたら外人です。 The guide and the staff were very rude with us, maybe because we are foreigner because they were much more polite with other japanese.

If you enjoy touring very old, original places steeped in history and intrigue, you have to visit Myoryuji-Ninja Temple when you are in Kanazawa. With 7 floors disguised to look like only 4 (because that was the "building code" at the time), this gem is...More

We visited in winter and didn't have a reservation, but on arrival there is an intercom button you press to reserve a spot. We only had to wait 40mins for the next tour, which we easily occupied walking around the other numerous shrines in the...More

This very interesting building is one of many temples built by the Maeda lords around the Kanazawa castle. Although it is not technically associated with the ninja it contains many hidden rooms, trick staircases, alcoves hidden from view that contained guards and other features to...More

Sorry but we had parking through our ryokan and walked there as it was only 20 mins away or so. There is parking, I believe up near Kanazawa Castle, although not much. If you are staying in town, your best bet is to take the... More
