One of the few attractons open for Covid. I didn't expect much but was greatly surprised at how long I stayed here. I highly recommend. Quite a bit of English.

This is a small museum keeping not so big collection but well represented the regional history.

More tempting is the planting landscape that is colourful and peaceful worth a mediation.

This museum is free and it's got lots of interesting information about Takayama and its rich history, although some of the information is not translated to english unfortunately. Still, well worth a visit!

I read about this Museum in the local city map. As the opening hours are longer than others, I decided to visit it at the end of the day. What a great surprise! Very well structured, rooms cover each an aspect of the history and culture of the town. Hosted in a very typical building. Too bad that either guides (written books) I had did not mention this Museum. It is even free.

Free entry. The moment you entered , get a paper where you can stamp on the designated spaces. There are many exhibit rooms on different floors. Just use the lift . There are a few rooms which we like - "Religion in Takayama", "Massive fire and Disaster Prevention", Traditional Events". Overall, a very informative museum.

This would have been made better with more interpretative descriptions as it was mostly in Japanese.

This free city museum tells the story of the area and many signs are in English. No photography, but that helps to focus the visitor on this well organized museum.
