The Yokokan garden is a peaceful location in Fukui city. For just 220 yen you can travel through time: in the Edo period. A nice path through the natural setting with a large pond and house, in the typical Japanese style. The most beautiful part...More

A hidden gem in the suburbs near Fukui station, about a 5-10 minute walk from the station via the castle ruins. The grounds are well landscaped, making an impressive traditional Japanese garden with hills, rock ornaments, and a large central pond full of fish. There's...More

Very nice gardens. Probably best to visit in the spring when a lot of shrubs will be in flower. Interesting walk around and nice buildings which were once a home.

Once entering this good place, You are shut off from noise. You enjoy Japanese traditional style garden. Just about 3 dollers, and if you are early bird, you may enter free depending on the season.

The gardens were what you would expect, a little smaller actually. The main attraction is the traditional Japanese house (mansion) that was built on the water. Very interesting!
