A nice place to visit. The Hommarugoten had many beautiful drawings and artwork. It provided information about the life of Japanese shogun.

A must visit when going to Nagoya Castle, excellent examples of culture in the past and very well preserved. Ancient Japan at its best

While you can still see part of the castle (as specified in the Trip Advisor listing title) the whole thing was very underwhelming/disappointing as a result of the main castle's closure.

A few years ago I had the chance to see this and was stunned by the beauty of the craftsmanship that went into this restoration. It really gives Nagoya castle a run for it's money. The elaborate paintings and details in every little thing were...More

Located inside Nagoya Castle. Free enter. So beautiful the decoration and the wall paint. Must come if you are at Nagoya. Visited on Dec 2017.

Wonderful restoration of a part of the Nagota castle including the reception halls, but since it is quite new, only seven or eight years old, for me it was a little difficult to imagine how it was like in the old days.

这个馆修了好几年终于在前几个月完工了。每幅画都很精美微微闪耀光泽,木质的地板尤其舒服,工工整整每个细节都完美。 This palace is finally completed recently after several years' construction. All the paintings are exquisite with subtle shine. We loved walking on the wood flooring, which is definitely a detail-oriented design and construction.

These premises were destroyed in the war but faithfully recreated using abundant paintings and renderings of the place. Where there were no details, they would leave the space or wall blank. The attention to detail is absolutely amazing!
