This was the first time in years I’ve been to this aquarium, and the first time with my family.
Overall, it was a disappointment. It’s expensive to get in, and you don’t get what you pay for.
Positives: A reasonable range of aquatic creatures on display, decent dealing with the coronavirus situation, a nice restaurant inside, great turtles, staff fine, lots of penguins (although they were crowded together a bit too much).
Negatives: The dolphin show has been cut to ten minutes in length, with 5 minutes of that just info about dolphins on a screen, so really just 5 mins of dolphin action. No more dolphin splashing or any of the fun stuff. If they cut the show entirely because of Covid I’d get it (although the price of entry should then be reduced), but making the show so pathetic while still keeping it in makes no sense. No one could believe it after they said it was over almost as soon as it had begun. The other big negative is the price, although I wouldn’t mind if the exhibits merited it. Finally, the sharks they have are tiny, and overall there aren’t enough of the famous aquatic creatures (only tiny sharks, no killer whales, few dolphins).

There weren't enough staff at the ticket counter, so it took too long to buy a ticket.
Why don't they install vending machines?
The dolphin show and killer whale training were both very lame.
I was shocked at how lacking in content was compared to similar shows I'd seen in the past.
The jellyfish exhibit was awfully crowded. That's because there are so many tanks in a small space. Why didn't they think of spacing the tanks out in a larger area?
There were also so many other areas for improvement that even a child could notice, and I got annoyed.

Interesting information in English on killer whales, Belugas and bottle nose dolphins, which of course you can observe. What was really good was an area where you learn, again In English, about the evolution of whales.
Definitely worth a visit.

It was Christmas when we visited. There was a long line in front of the ticket booth. But we still got in after about 20 minutes. We were surprised by the huge tank with many dolphins swimming freely! We were warmed by the sight of the garden eels peeking out their cute faces from the sand. Whale bone specimens were displayed everywhere, giving us a sense of the extraordinary. The dolphin show was the last show of the day. Ah, lucky us. It was only about 10 minutes long, but there was a lot to see. We were blown away by the dolphins' high jumps and quick swimming. They also showed us cute gestures from time to time. We were very satisfied with the dolphin show, which had many highlights.

When cetaceans face an aggressor in the wild, they are able to swim away. When they are in captivity like in Nagoya Aquarium, there is nowhere to go but to live with them in such a confined space. Pictures show the hurt caused by one beluga at this aquarium. It must stop!! Stop visiting places like this.

The first thing we saw when we entered was a huge killer whale!
So cool...
After that, we saw lots of dolphins swimming and playing energetically!
It's amazing that there are so many friends from the sea!
The tower is divided into two, so we had to go back and forth according to the show times, which was a bit tiring, but there was so much to see and it was a lot of fun!

I've been to many aquariums and I've never seen such a disappointing dolphin show.
Sitting in a hot middle chair, I was looking forward to it, but it was too disappointing to do 10 minutes out of 15 quizzes and commentary. And the first person to come out is reading Kampe....
Meanwhile, the dolphins stand by.
We have such a large pool, but all we do is explain it on small monitors....
Boring. I don't care about quizzes.
I want to see the dolphin in front of me, not the dolphin on the monitor.
If you only have five minutes of the show, you should have come to see it at the end.
I wish I'd read it first because there were a few people who said the same thing in reviews.
The dolphins were cute and I was able to see killer whales, which was great!

The aquarium is not very big but it was the best one I ever been. There were a variety of sea animals I could see especially a close view to beluga and orca. It was enjoyable to look at them when I sat on the bench in front of the tanks.
There were few restaurants inside or nearby the aquarium. I tried the restaurant inside the aquarium. It was comfortable and tasty. If you would to go out, remember to stamp your hand at the exit. You can back when you finish eating outside.

Great visit to an awesome aquarium. All of the big mammals where very active and appear to be in good health. The have a pod of orcas kinda rare for an aquarium. The dolphins and belugas where good to see as well. Very good price and cheap parking at the seaside park. Highly recommend.

I had low expectations on this park since I've heard in Japan the respect for dolphins/whales isnt the same as in the West.
However, I was disappointed in the lack of space for the killer whales, beluga whales. The dolphins did somehow get a large pool. There is little to no information in English and none of the trainers speak English so there's not much to learn if you don't speak Japanese.
I pray this one day closes and they relocate the animals to a sanctuary.

Why keep these animals in captivity? They should be in the sea and living free, but not around Japan where they could be killed an agonising death.

Hii robalveston.... it’s so nice someone is thinking like this. And yes like us, this earth belongs to every other living creature that God has created. But due to some money reasons , humans have taken over this earth. And I agree these animals are in pathetic conditions in the museum.
However, sea creatures are not safe out also. Everyday you see so many whales are washed offshore , chokes due to poly bags or so......
In short , it is we who has created a living hell for all these creatures.and unless something doesn’t happens now, our future generations will not be able to see any of these living creatures.
