About
Danang Golf Club is situated on the fledgling central coast of Vietnam amid 150 hectares of dunescape similar to what the world’s first golf courses were carved from. Its chief feature is a 7,160-yard, 18-hole, links-style layout that was designed in the true spirit of the game — blown-out bunkers, firm and fast fairways that bleed gently into wild seaside vegetation, rugged waste areas, swales and hollows — by Australian golf legend and former world No. 1 Greg Norman. It lies in close proximity to two of Vietnam’s most historic destinations — UNESCO World Heritage sites Hoi An and Hue — and offers breathtaking views of the Marble Mountains, East Sea and Cham Islands.

It was quite surprising how different they were. The Dunes was a typical Greg Norman links layout, whereas the Riverside course was more in an American style.
On the first day we played in the late afternoon and into the evening where we played under flood lights. The greens were amazingly slow; probably the slowest I've seen in many years. On the second day, we played at first light and the greens had been transformed to be a normal speed. Presumably the grass grew during the day and by afternoon they had become slow?
The holes were strange in that the par 5's were often quite short and reachable in two shots for several of our group.
I'm not sure though that i would go back. The Ba Na Hills course is so much better in every respect.

We were vacationing with another couple in DaNang and opted to do an impromptu golf morning. We stopped by the clubhouse and BRG was willing to work us in for 9 holes without a reservation. When we arrived on the morning of our game the caddies were all lined up waving as our car pulled up. It was a great and welcoming experience.
The course was very nice and in great shape. You cant say enough about the caddies. The work hard and are constantly helping in anyway they can. Only one of our four had any english, so that made things a little bit difficult but they could communicate yardage and basic commands like left/right, etc...
The negatives were significant though. As a high end golf course i expected certain things that were not provided. For example. I would expect free water or water bottles provided. I expected cold towels or any towels, none. There weren't even tees provided in the carts. As inexpensive as most luxury experiences are in Danang, i expected 5 star, four seasons time service from the staff and amenities. It just wasn't there. It felt more like a budget service experience except for the caddies.
The biggest problem was in our club rentals. Because we didn't bring clubs, we arranged to rent clubs. The clubs were old and mismatched. We started by hitting some balls at the driving range and after 2 swings, the head of my wife's driver broke free. We showed the driver to the caddies that started a frenzy of activity and communication with several managers and forms that needed to be filled out. In the end, they said since it broke while we rented it it was our responsibility to replace it. So we were charged $250 for a 10 year old driver. The manager wouldn't even come down to speak with us regarding the decision and left it up to the front desk girl to hear our side of the story.
So all in all, i wouldn't recommend going here. There are too many other places in the area to have an excellent experience especially at this price point. Vietnam is so service oriented and the people are wonderful. Honestly in our entire 2 week experience, this was the only negative serivce interaction we had in the country.

Buyer Beware,
In Dec 2019, I purchased a three year prepaid membership from BRG. All was going well until recently when Vietnam Immigration notified Xpats their tourist visas would not be renewed. With mine expiring June 20th, I notified club management of my mandatory exit of Vietnam and this should trigger the “force majeure” clause of the contract.
Local management acknowledged this was a “force majeure” event. Also advised this was not a local matter but corporate was reviewing. Thus, other Xpats were experiencing this same difficulty. My request was not a refund of my prepayment but to temporarily freeze the clock on the three years.
Yesterday BRG informed “clearly an unexpected circumstance beyond our control and it cannot be considered the fault of the golf course in any way”.
I write this in hopes it will help any other prospective members to understand BRG can not be trusted to honor it’s own contract.

As we played both courses, Danang Golf Club and Montgomerie Links Danang, I thought it would be the best to write a comparing review, as both courses are not bad, but have its characteristics. Both courses are located right next to each other.
Overall, my rating is: 3 Points (Average) for Danang Golf Club (thereafter referred to as D) and 4 Points (Very Good) for Montgomerie Links Danang (thereafter referred to as M). Here are my reasons:
Overal impression & atmosphere: M is far more modern and well kept. From arrival to lobby to club house to locker rooms. A lot of noise from street as well as construction at D, no noise at all at M (which is funny because as mentioned they are right next to each other)
Price: At both courses, try to play during the week as prices are much lower than weekends/public holidays. D is almost double as expensive as M.
Level of english: Far better at D
Driving range: M much better, modern facilities, putting green, chipping etc everything close by.
Caddies: Mandatory at both courses. Of course it always depends which caddies you get, but in our case caddies at D were really good, decent level of english, very friendly, worked together. At M caddies were a nightmare. Basically no english, seems very unwilling, did not even try to look for balls, etc.
Course: D is more difficult, very difficult greens. You cross the street twice, but only one hole has sea view. Apart from fairways not really maintained. M is far simpler, but also "prettier". on both courses you are allowed to use carts on fairways.
Club House: nice at both, service better at M, food better at D.
If I would go back, I would go back to M, as more modern, and almost half the price, hence my slightly higher rating for M.

Played here 18 holes on 15 October with 2 locals from Danang. It is there home course but for me this course lacks all the facilities you would expect in Asia. Where are the water carts, where are the course toilet facilities. The course standard with fast greens are to be expected the course setting with noise from the road and only one hole 16th with a view of the sea is a waste of design. The course is a hard one and test of golfing ability I play off 20 so I'm average I suppose. I booked through my hotel Fusion Maia who arranged tee off time and clubs I had my own shoes. Clubs are 850,000 dong. But umbrella hire is 180,000 dong yes I was amazed as well but there is no flexibility. Caddies are in the price of the round and are very good. I booked a buggy but on arrival was told that they are not available as it had been raining in the morning. So after 9 holes we are offered buggies at half price . The reason we are playing to slow. We declined. They should have provided them at the start. So my advice don't play on this course it is expensive and poor value for money

This review is courtesy of my golf-mad husband who was so excited he had to play on our honeymoon...
"Arrived at Da Nang Golf Course without a booking after waiting for a break in the rain and were welcomed with open arms. Staff did a great job getting us on within ten minutes of arrival, though it was a quiet day. The course itself was in great condition and is one of the best I've played. Each hole has a unique character but be prepared for a few three putts as the greens are tricky. Our caddie was friendly and knowledgable and without her help I would not have shot the score that I did.
Be prepared to pay in the vicinity of 4,200,000 vnd to play if you're hiring clubs and using a cart. They did charge a "spectator fee" of about 200,000 vnd for my wife to come and watch. Caddie hire is compulsory and caddies expect a tip of at least 200,000 vnd for 18 holes. All up it was probably $270 aud, but if you're an avid golfer in search of a nice course to play while in Vietnam it's well worth the money."

Played here with a group of 7...did it just for the experience, course nice without being sensational...caddies knowledgeable but incredibly "flirty"...not appropriate in my book and if my wife had of been there, they would have copped a handbag in the head...
Played in a group of three and four and noticed caddies holding hands with players...calling me "honey"...touchy feely...giggling like school girls....some of the blokes liked it (the 50+'s in our group)...me and a mate found it distracting and in poor taste, they only do it in an endeavour to get a bigger tip at the end of the round....if i wanted that type of attention...id go to Thailand red light district....it really did spoil what should have been a "life experiance"...
Really expensive...beers after round cost me about $15 aud per stubbie of Corona.!!!...all in all...glad i tried it but my advise...take a cattle prod for you caddie...!!

very nice and large 18 holes golf course, especially the 16th hole is located beside the luxurious Da Nang beach. The green is good for golfers who are very professional and with good handicap.
I like local caddie girls here so much.

I've been taking my clubs and playing different golf courses throughout our travels over the years so I should start reviewing them too to assist other enthusiasts.
Played BRG Danang twice (different week days).
Was grouped with 2 other people on the first afternoon and by myself on the other twilight round.
The course is quite nice and some holes can be quite challenging. Electric carts are available but have no GPS on board so don't forget your scopes and update your GPS watches! The mandatory lady caddies are pleasant and knowledgeable, and are quite good with distances (they quote in yards but can also approximate in metres). Bring sufficient balls as there are hazards throughout. Buying any equipment from the pro-shop will be quite expensive.
The locker/shower facilities are topnotch and the concierge can call for a taxi.
Days can be quite hot & humid even in the cool season so take plenty of fluids and sunblock. Bottled water / iso drinks are available from the kiosks for AUD3.00 / 5.00 each as well as free ice for the cart esky/cooler.
Fees were about VND3.4M plus caddy tips.
Helpful tip - the humidity will cause
sweaty hands. Swap between a couple of gloves during your round for a better grip.

As a visitor how much is green fees and can I hire golf clubs and bag in April 2018?
Written 11 June 2017
Green fees will be about USD $150 and yes you can hire very good quality clubs. If not there are organisations like Golfasian that can book for you and also arrange for hire clubs.

How easy is it to get from Hoi An to this golf course? only have one free afternoon and my dad would like to come check out this golf course. Which is the best way to get there and around what price?
Written 30 August 2015
Danang Golf Club is north of Hoi An, along the coastal highway towards Danang. From the centre of Hoi An old town it would take less than half an hour by taxi. You could easily get a taxi from any hotel, the staff are most willing to telephone for a taxi and incredibly a taxi would appear within a couple of minutes. For the distance, the taxi fare would be several US dollars but would not exceed US$10. From my experience, the taxis go by the meter and is hassle free compared to the larger cities of Ho Chi Minh and Hanoi.
