Busy and displays some folk traditions and products, including pottery making.
Small and no one around to help except in souvenir shops where they sell you stuff. Very brief description of what is on display.
You need a ticket to go in.
Not worth a visit in my opinion...

Located right on the river...it in a good location to continue exploring the town. The ticket I had for other museums allowed me in. The displays were interesting but due to the heat inside...I didn't stay as long as I might have if it hadn't been SO HOT!

I believe this one is also known as the Museum of Folklore. We visited late in the afternoon the day before we left Hoi An and had the place to ourselves. Not even the ticket collector was to be seen!
As you enter, you have a room dedicated to silk farming. There are baskets of cocoons on display and a chart showing the life cycle of the silk worm, skeins of colored silk, etc. The next room has weaving looms. As we wandered from room to room taking in the displays on pottery, fishing, etc, we realized the museum is actually located in a large ancient house. There were two courtyards, several rooms, and many staircases leading to the first floor. Lovely.
By the time we made our way to the first floor, it was dark and bats began zooming in an out of the rooms on the first floor. Also, because of the dim light, I was startled a couple of times by the life size statues in one of the rooms! Anyway, the upstairs has displays of traditional costumes, fishing nets and contraptions for catching shrimp, and traditional festival costumes such as the unicorn, which make for interesting viewing.
If you're interested in shopping, there are a couple of shops selling silk scarves, etc. We didn't visit, so I can't comment on the quality or price.
If you want to visit just one museum in Hoi An, I would recommend that you visit this one.

The museum exhibits are excellent and an insightful example of the Ancient life in Hoi An.
The building itself is magnificent. It is a large wooden two storey house in the Ancient town stretching across two parallel streets in central Hoi An.
The exhibits are arranged in themes and demonstrate old farming practices such as silk worm farming, fishing and other occupations.
You need a ticket to enter the museum but this also includes a performance of old folk music and dance. A worthwhile exhibit and performance.

We thoroughly enjoyed our quiet visit to this little museum with it's displays depicting traditional lifestyles and fishing and farming techniques. And the house itself is lovely too.

THis museum is great - particularly as a complement to other activities such as a countryside visit and or bike ride. It gives further context to things seen and experienced in and around Hoi An and is well displayed although some English interpretation is absent.
