A local food market atmosphere you should not miss

Strolling through this bazaar takes you about 30 minutes and will give you a great experience and lasting memory. Buy some sweets or raisins to take home.

The famous Central Asian Food Market is located within walking distance of Registan Square and consists of a two story covered, but still airy, modern food market. Famous for selling local produce like fresh / dried fruits, nuts, sweets and spices. Vendors although are generally friendly (especially the younger ones) although barter hard (especially with the older vendors), if possible... More

I could not particularly understand why this is listed as a tourist attraction. As far as atmospheric bazaars go, this is not particularly atmospheric and a selection of particularly unique mementos will not be found here. This seems to be a tourist trap if there ever was one. I've visited several bazaars and corniches in the Gulf and Iran and... More

Such a beautiful mix of colors for stunning pictures! You'll find fresh and dry fruit, but also clothes and all sort of souvenirs for cheap. I even found an electric plug adapter that was not available anywhere else in town!

I found the bazaar fascinating. Full of local people buying their groceries and household good it is a colourful and lively place to visit. It is a modern construction and not a place for history lovers, but certainly a must visit for those who like to get a feel of the local culture. The yellow figs on sale were delicious.

The Central Bazaar has one of the best locations in the world, sitting next to the amazing Mosque, tombs and mausoleums this Bazaar has amazing food that you can try and buy. The local merchants are fantastic as they let you try everything for free. We ended up buying a lot of food for our journey across the stans. Make... More

I liked all the bazaars I went to in uzbekistan but this was my favourite. I spent practically the whole day here. It's huge but not overcrowded. Like all bazaars in Uzbekistan there is no pressure to buy and bargaining is a civilised procedure. The food and flower hall was my favourite part - the colours - of the women... More
