The Bastion of San Miguel is not just an old wall. It has great history behind it. The remnants tell of the struggles during the Spanish-Portuguese wars in which the city played a pivotal role. One can see canons and other relics that have been...More

There is really nothing special about this old wall. Climbed up but there is really nothing much to see so don't bother going up.

The bastion is historical and worth checking out if you're in the area, but it's nothing really to write home about. It does offer some decent photo ops.

The Bastion of San Miguel was part of the great wall that defended Colonia del Sacramento, in 1745. Much of this fortified construction, including the cannons, is still there. Interesting part of this historic precinct.

Pretty standard colonial stone defence walls but integral part of visiting the old quarter of Colonia & some reasonable photo opportunities

Typical wall that was build with colonial style. One of the iconic places in Colonia del Sacaramento. You can just take a quick photo and I think that would be enough for this attraction.

This should be the oldest church in all of Uruguay, that in itself makes it worth seeing. It is small but really well kept, both inside and outside. For sure worth a visit if in Colonia, also there is not that much else to see...More

If you are looking for a place in Colonia del Sacramento to admire the sunset, here is probably one of the best spots. The area has many benches available and a nice green area nearby where you can seat and have picnic. It is very...More
