The fort itself is really just walls and some interesting towers. What made it special for me was the wonderful photo exhibition of Wilfred Thesiger that s currently going on.

I visited the fort in the middle of the day when it was pretty hot and empty of people. We weren't allowed to go inside to see the exhibition with a stroller so that made our trip short. It was nice to walk around the...More

There is history here, the fort really is unique even though not the exact accurate architectural structure of the past. I find the evening concerts which are from time to time held here the optimal time for turning back time and melding the past and...More

There's an excellent account of Wilfred Thesiger's journeys through the Arabian desert in the 40s and 50s which is fascinating if you're an adventurer too. The exhibition is beautifully mounted and easy to read. I recommend taking the time to soak it up. The fort...More

Good place in combination with Oasis and Palace Museum to understand the history of Abu Dhabi and Al Ain. Really good photography exhibition on the travels of Wilfred Thesiger.

We went in February and virtually had the place to ourselves. It was very interesting and would recommend. Closed on Mondays.

Why not stop in - it's free and central. Not a ton to see here, and very limited information on what you're looking at, but its still worth a stop.

The fort itself is not much, but displays, photos and history of Wilfred Thesiger is well worth the visit. As in Lawrence in Arabia, Thesigers exploration of the forgotten quarter of the Saudi peninsula was an amazing feat of skill and bravery. This is a...More

This is a nice attraction you can wonder around it won t take to long . There is an information centre on one side and a gallery on the other. But your free to Rome around the tower and inner fort.
