In the heart of the city, the Al Ain Oasis has been opened as the UAE's first curated UNESCO World Heritage site visitor experience. Spread over 1,200 hectares (nearly 3,000 acres) and containing more than 147,000 ...it's lovely and is the heart of this Oasis City.

It really does feel so much cooler in the shade. This is the best part about al ain in my opinion. There are thousands of date trees that shade the walkways. You could wander around here for a while. It is a Unesco site, and is free to visit. They also have bikes you can borrow to ride around the... More

A nice easy walk through a date plantation in the heart of the city. Great way to see how date palms are irrigated and grown in the middle of a desert, you can walk along maintained pathways or venture down into the plantations to enjoy the shade, be aware that it is cooler in the shade but it is still... When we went there we were told that we could see the oasis and then go to the souq. Sounded good, the oasis itself is charming with palm trees in the shade, there was no water in the irrigation system though so we felt this was missing to the general feel of the place and please do not bother trying... Beautiful oasis in the middle of the town. Looks like a palm jungle with palm of all sizes and shapes growing in a small oasis.

I can't count the times we have been to the Oasis in the last year since we moved to Sharjah. We absolutely love the place, it i so relaxing to walk there, even in the peak of the summer when it is so hot everywhere, the Oasis remains serene and fresh. Located next to the Shekij's palace which we always... More

A very nice town in the middle of the desert. The city has grown around the oasis. In oasis is observed traces of water supply systems, palm tree, green grass . Nearby is the National Museum and Museum of the UAE ruling family. Both are worth visiting.

Lots of greenery with tall, shady palms and a background of birdsong - an oasis of calm. This was the first time I'd seen the irrigation channels working, so lovely to picnic to the sound of running water and to watch the frogs in the ponds. Gate 7 now has an eco centre with state of the arts visual display,... More
