I doubt anywhere else in the world could you get this close to a nuclear reactor - let alone, the most infamous in history. Too many places 'coddle' visitors and it was refreshing to be able to really see close up where history was made....More

I saw the reactor 4 now the new cover has gone on. I had watched a documentary on it several months ago and the work involved to manage a project on this scale so it was amazing to see it up close.

It's crazy to me that you're allowed to get so close to the reactor. I was there last summer, before the new sarcophagus was put into place. I've heard that it's not as cool now, but it sounds like it's going to be much safer...More

Went with my brothers in Feb 2016. Overall a great experience, however I did vomit black stuff for about 6-8 weeks following the trip. Sergei says that this is normal and some changes are expected.

You can go for a tour from Kiev and enter the zone (30 & 10 km) its very nice but only if you are interested in what happened here in 1986. Also the fact of abandoned villages is strange but is gives you a view...More

Seeing the new cover for the reactor was really interesting, especially with a guide who could explain the work that was being done. Simply being so close to such a major historical site was really intense for me. Imagining the day of the accident and...More
