The biggest Monument to Taras Shevchenko in East Ukraine. Locate on the island, in the middle of the park. Good place to walk with children.

Of course, the founding father of Ukraine--Taras Shevshenko is venerably honoured everywhere in Ukraine. His monuments were in ever major city--Kiev, Kharkov, Lugansk, Donetsk, Dnipro, Odessa, Chernivtsi, Rivne, and Lviv, and so forth! It's always his whole body then the monument underneath him...looks great.

The monument of the famous Ukrainian poet Taras Shevchenko is situated on the Monastyrsky Island, you can see it just when you cross Dnepr River walking along the bridge in the Shevchenko park.
