We visited some beaches along Lake victoria during our 2 day stay in Entebbe. The lake is very nice and clean. The water is perfect for swimming and sailing :-)

Bird watching on the lake, especially at the Mabamba Swamp is a great experience - and a must if you like birds.

We saw the shoebill and a chick on our tour with Gorilla OClock - can only be recommended.

We also saw a lot of other beautiful birds.

We had lunch at the bank of the lake and its so big, that it looks like an ocean!

I stayed at this hotel for the second visit and my stay was full of wonders. The staff serve with a smile and always willing to serve. The food is always to my expectation. My room was nice with a new crafty look and nice bed.
I hope to come back soon in November.

Beautiful to see one of the largest lakes in the world but it is not a fun beach activity, and some shores are quite dirty.

A boat trip on Lake Victoria is a must do! Either take one of the fancy ones (on a speed boat) new UWEC or the shared one (near 2 Friends Guest house). Try to go on the sunset trip - the views are fabulous. Including watching the planes land at the nearby Entebbe airport.
And yes, cross the equator (quite close) - keep a watch on your GPS and ensure you take a 'screenshot' to record your presence on the equator in the middle of the Lake!

The lake used to have lovely clear water but now it is a bit cloudy and the beach is losing ground because the heavy rains is flooding the lake
