About
Every week, the center of Fethiye’s downtown is transformed into a massive open-air market filled with endless rows of shops. There is a wide variety of fresh produce like seasonal fruits, vegetables, and local spices on offer, as well as stalls carrying handmade crafts, clothes, bags, and jewelry. Visit the market for its vibrant atmosphere and to sample local street food and delicacies like kebabs, baklava, and Turkish delight. Fethiye Market is open all year round—visit early in the day and be prepared to haggle. You may find better prices as you make your way deeper into the market. – Tripadvisor

    Market bargains
Large under cover market. Fresh food area separate to clothing, accessories and household. Drinks and food available throughout. Haggling welcomed. Cheaper than shops in Fethiye. Great place to get imitation designer goods. Spices, cheese, fresh produce, shoes, bags, fabrics, jewellery. We even saw wild turtles in the waterway next to the market! Be aware that taxis from fethiye to oludeniz will be expensive on the way home. Cost 350 lira to go at 8.30am, but 600 to get back because the traffic early afternoon is heaving.

    Huge market
Excellent market. Took a taxi from our hotel. I have never seen fruit and veg so big!! Tge market is huge, so give yourself time to walk around. There are a lot of stalls selling handbags wallets etc. Look round first before buying, and always haggle. Good day out.

Worth a walk around but nothing really worth buying
The first few stalls as you enter can be a little pushy but everyone was very polite apart from one man who tired to get to close to me and hold me. Something I politely refused and walked away to the point he got a little rude but no harm. As for the market itself its good to walk around and look but personally I found it to be a lot of really cheap fakes and the same cheap fakes on each stall. Some of the handmade pottery was beautiful and the fresh fruit and veg was nice to walk around. But that was about your lot. Would I go again. No. Was it good to experience. Yes.

    Amazing bustling market.
We visited on a Tuesday which is the main market day. The main attraction is the food market. We were blown away by the amount of choice on offer, it had everything you could think of and more. The fruit and vegetables were so fresh, we bought our lunch there that day. The front part of the market was the food. behind were clothes and anything else you can think of. Be prepared to be accosted at this part of the market by traders and you also need to do some haggling!

I recently went to the Tuesday Market whilst being on a family holiday. I was being pulled left right and centre to try things etc. There was one jewellery stall at the far end of my market a woman and her cousin. The woman owned the jewellery stall and her cousin a fragrance stall. I had paid with my Revolut card (which has never let me down). They said that my card had declined and to try again. I did this the second time (which apparently also declined) I then proceeded to pay in cash. Once I had left the market I second guessed the whole transaction and looked at my statement. Both card payments were pending. A few days later that had both gone through. All in all, be very very careful and always pay in cash.

I love the fruit and vegetables stalls, so fresh and tasty. Typical fare on offer, from fresh foods, leather goods, genuine fake designer gear and handbags etc.

I would go to the market independently rather than with Tui trip. If you are interested in Turkish delights etc. You must barter and walk away if you don't get the deal you want.

Ripped off by a stall holder selling shorts on our first day in Turkey. My partner loves a market and used his Hays Cash card to buy a couple of belts and then some shorts he liked. He settled of the price for the shorts of £5 each, but when he tried to use his card in a cafe for two drinks it was declined. Got back to the hotel and checked the card app only to find they had taken over £480!!! Nightmare!

Be very very careful, especially if you are European, do not trust any purchase for shipping overseas of bulk items, the watches will initially look good, they stop working, fall apart in weeks … do not pay £100 … you’ll have absolutely no regress unless you pay with MasterCard or visa … do not pay cash, in particular stay away from the genuine fake watch shop. Make your own mind up
