I came here during my stay in Konya. The performance is every Saturday at 7:30 ( or 9:30 during Ramadan). The venue is not far from the Mevlana museum. The seats are tiered and comfortable. Plan on spending 60-90 minutes for the full performance. Photography...More

A must do if you are able to be in Konya on a Saturday evening even if performing arts isn't your thing. Read up on it before so you have half an idea what its about. As a bonus its free to attend.

I went to Konya to see the Whirling Dervishes. The music is still in me. It's a beautiful experience, and very unique!

The sema held every Saturday at 7:00pm at the Mevlana Cultural Center is free. The program starts with an explanation of what to expect, and gives the historical background of the performance. The whirling dervishes are a delight to watch, but what I personally found...More
