If you are in the area it's worth a quick visit to this city museum. It is basically a showcase of a few older cars, models of buses and trams and other city memorabilia. Unfortunately, there are no descriptions in English.

You can find anything what you expect from a museum!!! That's why, I suggest to everyone to see it. Of course, if you come to Izmir for 2-3 days. It wont worth to see it!

Set in a splendid, deco-style former fire hall, this free museum consists mostly of enlarged illustrations and text descriptions in English and Turkish. The subjects elaborated on these panels include: Izmir's history, from a post-Ottoman perspective; i.e., somewhat glossing over the non-Turkic (e.g., Rum, Yehudi, Ermeni, etc.) part of the story; the history of olive-oil production; and historic healing practices... More
