The museum is really a must to visit when you travel to Cappadocia. It tells the history of this region through art (mainly handmade dolls), which is a truly unique and remarkable way — I've never seen anything like this before. The museum curators are very friendly and informative. They provide one on one tours through the museum. Even though the museum is not big, it gives numerous information about Turkish culture and history. Besides the handmade dolls presenting Turkish, the museum also contains handmade dolls of other Asian countries including China, Japan Thailand, India, Vietnam.

The visit to the museum really made our trip to Cappadocia special and remarkable.

It's a very unique and interesting place with an individual tour around the museum, which is old Greek house, maintained by a family. I highly recommend this place!

This is a hidden gem of a museum- filled with meticulously hand crafted dolls that speak of folklore, heritage and history of the Ottoman Legacy to present day. We had a wonderful tour given by the Curator, Mr Serkan, who brought the dolls to life.

While wandering the streets of Mustafapasa I stumbled upon this little gem. The history of Türkiye is told through one woman’s “doll” creations. She runs this museum with her delightful adult children who give you a one on one tour. The all handmade collection is impressive as is the building that houses the museum. If you have an extra hour while visiting this area I suggest a visit. It will make you smile.

The collection is well thought through, relating history through toys and daily objects. Great display of traditional handcrafts as well. Serkan is quite devoted and gives detailed tours.

It is one of my revitalised places in Cappadoccia. Whenever I am there, I always visit the museum and its lovely owners. They welcome us kindly. The last time was special for me since I had the family legacy of my grandmother's wedding dress - early 1920 I think (the full set). It was bought second-handed for her in Urgup when she wedded and moved to Avanos. I wanted this heritage to live through its original location by my donation. It will be displayed where it belongs to, in Urgup!

It takes about an hour or so to visit this place if you are in a hurry, but with enough time in hand even a day is not enough.
Need to walk and climb a lot, so check your health before going there.
