An amazing performance, mesmerising, no photos until the end though, the gift shop bookmarks & paintings lovely... with a mulled wine at the end, nice touch!

In a carevanserai, this was told to us to be a ceremony, NOT a show. Do not expect what you saw in movies or on tv. It is a very respectful, interesting experience. It does have religious significance, even though they say it doesn't. NO PHOTOS allowed during the dance or music, but they do return and you get to... More

Watching someone dance in circle in a trans not touch each other is not worth $90 and a long taxi ride.

Decided to go to this presentation rather than the more touristy cultural dinner show. It definitely seemed like the more authentic experience, and I enjoyed having the opportunity to see the old caravansary, but at 25 euros per person for approximately 45 minutes, a little pricey. Don't expect flash and dazzle, don't go if you are sleepy, as the music... More

If you are in Cappadocia, make sure you see the dervishes. To me it was at first nothing special, but after a while I found it to be rather hypnotic and I could not stop watching this beautiful performance combined with relaxing music. It is however a rather touristic experience, you do not get to take pictures during their performance... More

We choose to see the Whirling Dervish Ceremony in Goreme, instead of the touristic show version offered in Istanbul. The venue an old building structure with arches and stone. There was bench seating on three sides and as the Dervishes whirled around and moved about, everyone was able to see nicely. The ceremony is very serious and quite slow moving... More

Apparently the performers study for a religious 'degree' and perform this practice as it would have been performed in the time of Rumi. Although they are no longer 'monks'. It is quite a hypnotic performance and helps you to connect with the symbolic nature of the practice.

We went to this area of Turkey for the cultural experience as well as the amazing scenery, The Dervish show was very spiritual. The late performance includes a drink and a slide show afterwards. The event was in a genuine caravansari(?spelling). We later went to Konya the birth place of the Dervishes and couldn't have the experience there because it.... More

We thought that we should experience as much of the Cappadocia area as possible, and I am very glad that we included this attraction. The performance is about an hour long, and although they do not permit photos while it is on, they do come back after and "whirl" for a few pictures. Seriously, it I'd a dizzying experience!
