Don't miss the Karanlik Kilise despite the extra entrance fee.Its fine murals are well worth it. Be prepared for some mini-climbing among the rocks.

A must do list in Cappodokia. It was incredibly, amazing open museum. It's huge. Went during winter, it was cold & dry.

This is a good an inexpensive place to see the famous cave dwellings of Capadoccia. Stay at Maron Cave House and walk to the museum.

I did not know what to expect from the open air museum and initially I went on a day tour. The churches in the caves are so incredible with the paintings were so amazing I went back again a couple of days later to explore more.

This open air museum is well laid out with good paths and easy steps, which were generally clear, even during our winter visit. You can only stay in most churches for three minutes and you may have to wait a little as only 20 people are allowed in at each time.Don't let this put you off.

This a very interesting place featuring early christian monasteries. Each monastery has it's own unique church. The place can be crowded in the morning. This is why if weather permits I recommend visiting this place in the afternoon.

When we went there it was snowing, so everywhere was white. It gives it a very different look and feel than on the pictures you can see everywhere on the internet, but we loved it nonetheless. The paintings on the walls are very interesting, but all the best ones are in the dark room, which is an extra 10 liras.... More
