The narrow passages in some areas followed by the quite large open areas in churches is a huge contrast. Walking through the cave houses with the narrow areas and vertical pipes you can climb from one story to another still stays with me. And then the work they had to carve out the churches - I'm not sure building with... More

This is a unique part of our erarth, the volcanic rock structures let the imagination go free, with shapes and colours making pictures of nature, as seen in few places. Extravagent beauty.and filled with history - a place to let the imagination go wild! And this Open-Air experience is just one of so many things to do in the area.

It was cold and covered with snow but the view was great. We enjoyed it a lot and we are glad that we went there in winter because there were not many people around, it wasn't crowded at all. So, it was fantastic.

A must see experience. It is fantastic to see how they were living in these old days. The buildings and the paintings and caves are very interesting. We can only recommend this museum.

This place has multiple fairy chimneys and caves; we visited the churches inside the caves; the paintings on the walls and ceilings are beautiful; some may have faded, but we can still see most of them.

Nice piece of history and sightseeing. Well maintained and easy to access. So beautiful with the white coat of winter. Allow at least an hour to see all parts.

It's a museum filled with ancient caves and it has a history of religious revolution in turkey and most of the caves are believed to be house then turned cemetery. Place looks clean and well maintained. Gives a different experience

This is an important site with many ancient Christian churches and art. It can be a little hazardous when the snow has not been cleared in winter.

There a few things you just have to do when visiting Cappadocia. Whilst doing the balloon rides to see the topography and fairy chimneys tends to be the highlight of any visit, one should not miss visiting the Goreme Open Air Museum to get an immersion in the Christian history of the area. The museum is built around what looks... More
