Walking Mehmet is a great guide and will show you places you are unlikely to find on your own. He is very knowledgeable and a great companion. We went on a half-day walk and saw much in the valley. Very enjoyable and thoroughly recommended.

Not only is Mehmet a fantastic guide, he is a a great companion. We spent a truly memorable day exploring the valleys around Goreme and learning its natural history and history from someone who has been doing this for over 20 years! His companion Saki, a labrador, led us and waited patiently till we caught up with him!! I became... More

We hired Mehmet as a walking guide for the red/rose valley for three hours. Communication was swift and easy to determine pricing and meeting place. The walk itself is not difficult no hills and pace was not fast. The heat at our start time of 5pm was probably the only hard part. A the highlights are the white church, pigeon... More

I and two other travelers joined Mehmet on a private 7 hour walking tour of the Rose Valley. Mehmet answered our many questions about the history of the valley and provided many interesting facts about the many things we saw, including sites, birds, and plants of the area. He was truly a pleasure to be with and guided us to... More

My family (2 adults and 2 teens) spent a day hiking with Mehmet in July through the Cappdocia valley. After communicating with him by email, I was convinced that seeing the remarkable and unique landscape in this way would be so much more special than taking the standard guided tour being driven around with a group of tourists from site... Our family, including two kids (12 and 14) had a fantastic two half-day walks with Mehmet. He was prompt, friendly, interesting, funny, and knowledgeable. What I appreciated most was that he listened to what we were interested in, customized routes based on our ability and interests, and allowed us to set the pace. And he knows EVERYTHING and EVERYONE! Mehmet... More

Our group did a full moon hike with Mehmet and even though we were tired from our earlier hike that day, he was full of energy and revitalized our group. I believe our night hike was through the red and rose valley and you could tell Mehmet knew where he was going. The hike offered us a great view of... More

Mehmet really knows the area and will get you to places that otherwise would be very hard to get to. He took us to a hidden chapel that was simply magical. He can adapt to any walker's pace level and speed. We've seen some of the best views in Cappadocia, exploring unknown paths and discovering more and more amazing views... More

My husband and I recently spent a wonderful day walking the wonderland of Cappadocia with Mehmet and his beautiful dog Sake. We had an great time, saw beautiful landscapes, ancient churches and had a glimpse into the ancient Turkish lifestyle. We also really enjoyed talking with Mehmet, as he's very philosophical and intelligent. We couldn't imagine a nicer way to... More

Mehmet and his adorable dog, Saki, led an unforgettable tour through the Red and Rose Valleys, leading us through areas that no ordinary tour group would likely venture. We enjoyed crawling inside of the pigeon caves and visiting epic centuries-old churches. The views of the valleys during our tour were unparalleled, marred only by having to inhale Mehmet’s chain-smoking and... More
