About
Built in the 14th century, this mosque is an excellent example of classical Ottoman architecture. Of special interest are the intricately carved wooden pulpit, and the three-tiered fountain.

    Amazing must go historical place
Love this place. I did have too much expectations at the beginning since I thought this will be a typical mosque. However, it was an impressive place. If you like history, you will love it. This mosque is different than others. There is a nice pool at the center. This pool was lightened by a huge roof window. Every corner of this building has unique historical details. One side you can see real black cover from Kabe, and bunch of others. You will feel that you go back to centuries back. Love this place. One of must go places in my list...

    Calligraphy
Most mosques are not very picturesque or exciting inside, but The Great Mosque in Bursa is an exception. It is really grand, not only in size and popularity, but also beautiful features such as the ablution fountain, mihrab and especially the wonderful calligraphy everywhere. I am not a religious man, but I sensed the spiritual importance of the place, together with some hundreds of worshippers.

    Serene Ambient in the Morning
Less than 5 minutes walk from my hotel, I went there for morning (Subuh) prayer in that mosque. A bit different architecture compare to the other mosque design in Turkiye. There are ablution area in the middle of the prayer hall. The mosque size is also quite big, and easy to reach especially for visitors around the Grand Bazaar & Osmangazi area.

Large open space inside the mosque
This mosque is differently decorated inside to many of the mosques we saw on our tour around Turkey. It's a vast open space with relatively few supporting columns. The walls, arches and ceilings assist in supporting the roof.

Must visit in Bursa. It's a holy and religious place of Islamic culture. Gives off peaceful and comfortable vibes. Recommended to follow the dress code as per their culture.

Located in the marketplace area, outside was bustling with peddlers , locales. Inside the mosque however was solemn. Architecture was splendid. Recognized as one of the most important site of worship in Islam. It is a must visit when you are in Bursa. Doesn’t matter if you a Muslim or not .
