The day was not as should be but the view from the castle is great and you should not miss that. Yup can walk all inside the perimeter of the wall and use your imagination.

It's open daily, certainly in the summer, and is open until about 8.oopm or later in June, July and August if my memory serves me.

It takes about 10 minutes to walk from the port to the castle. You can see the castle from the port.
