There is no explanation whatsoever of anything in English but the nice guard at the front speaks some English and gave some good colour. Beautiful architecture regardless. Free to enter. Make sure to bring some treats for the lovely stray dog outside. And kitties too.Visited February 2023Travelled soloWritten 19 February 2023

It´s surrounded by the public graveyard and whole place looks very dignified and majestic. You can visit an exhibition of artifacts from the life of President Bourguiba who rests in ornate coffin in the center of the building. There´s no entrance fee to the area and I can highly recommend a visit.Visited September 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 6 October 2023

Absolutely beautiful place to visit. Vert polite security and immaculate and no charge to visit! Been here twice now, came to Tunisia a year ago but had to visit once again as on holiday once again.

You can complete the visit in three quarters of an hour with a space for taking pictures. One of the most expensive buildings in Tunis. Built as a sign of respect for President Habib Burghiba, who ensured equality for women and many other changes in the country.

It´s located in front of the Ribat, and together they make the best Monastir attractions.
The mausoleum, planned by Bourgiba himself, rise him to the rank of a local god. Such an honor iI had only seen for kings and for Napoleon. As impressive as the mausoleum itself is the space around it.
The Unknown Soldier´s memorial marks the beginning of a large, wide pedestrian avenue, called the Place des Arts, don´t know why, since there is no art displayed. Families gather here and children play with bikes and roller coasters.

I was here just as Covid issues are in remission but the visitor count does not seem to have picked up. This place was all left to myself when I visited here today afternoon.
The collection of Habib Bourguiba's personal artefacts and then his ornate mausoleum is very well preserved. Well worth a visit when in the region.

Very nice mausoleum. What makes it even better is the story behind its construction! The whole story about the ex prime minister habib bourguiba is amazing and also the place is very secure.
