I visited these caves in July 2017 and there was a lot of construction work going on - new floors being laid in the caves, new buddhas being positioned and painted, generally lots of noise and dust and workers. So not a relaxing and pleasurable...More

Very pretty. Not easy to find in Phetchburi. Tuk tuks drive you up the hill from the parking lot. The grotto is being restored in parts when we went. But amazing place nevertheless.

Among caves in Phetchaburi province, Khao Luang is a must to visit, because of the large number of Buddha images found inside the cave, including a meters high Buddha image cast by order of King Chulalongkorn (Rama V). The atmosphere inside the cave is serene...More

When we were there, there was no evidence of any work at all. The area is in serious need of a clean up, however still very much worth a visit.
