I am by no mean an elephant sanctuary expert, however this location was very well run, the elephants were very relaxed and calm and the employees were all very nice and polite.
They explained everything very well, allowed for photos and shared stories about each elephant.
If you haven't done it before, I highly encourage you to try.

We had a wonderful experience with these beautiful elephants. I had the privilege of bathing the gentle giant, learned about rubber trees, local fruits and cooking pad thai that was delicious. The host was very friendly amd accommodating. We definitely recomend this.

Fantastic Place, I victors here in February. It was so much fun to feed the elephants and bath them. The staff are most welcoming and knowledgable. They make your time there an amazing experience. Lovely to see how they take care of these gentle creatures, who have been abused in their previous life. Good prices and includes a bucket to feed the animals, much is also included. We did a half day and it went over so quickly great fun to end our trip here. Thank you enjoy seeing you live videos on fb.

Feeding and bathing with the elephants was just fantastic! We were collected and returned to the sanctuary from our accommodation, had the best time with the elephants and then a cooking demo/lunch to end. Our hosts Mr Chow, Mint and the photographer were great. Excellent value for money in our opinion. All for an amazing cause. Highly recommend. Enjoy!

Had an amazing morning feeding, washing and generally loving the elephants.
Kids loved it, wife lived it even more. Don’t hesitate to try.
Doing a great job and can’t thank them enough for putting a smile on everyone’s face.

We had a great experience getting up and close with Anna and Paula. Anna was absolutely stoked to be given a bath and it was nice to see them taken care of. The crew was welcoming even when it was bucketing down rain.

Me and my wife just came back from this “elephant sanctuary” and usually we are not writing reviews but we are really pissed off because of this experience. First of all, if you are checking the main attractions in Phuket and you get a recommendation to visit the “Elephant Sanctuary”, please note that there is a real one, but not Kathu Phuket!! This is a fake one!! There were 3 elephants in this place, 2 adults and a baby, but I am quite sure they could be used as well for the trips with rides and so on... Secondly, the price is huge for what you get for: we’ve payed 2000 Bht / person for half a day which in the end was less than 2 hours including transport!! I regret we did not do a check first and went to the real Elephant Sanctuary - 3000 Bht / person, but a totally different experience.

We were told that the place was a real sanctuary with the care of elephants being a priority! Omg, I was so mad I spent 4000 into this horrible place! We stayed there 30minutes before we decided to leave. The poor baby elephant was trained to thank us after feeding it a bottle of milk. And the two older elephants were in a bad shape, the staff was pulling them by the ears which were already so damaged.
In the mud, a couple was ridding an elephant and taking pictures, we heard the elephant cry so many times. Heart breaking, I left right Away! Poor elephants have ropes around them, please take a look at my picture you will see the damage the rope has done on their poor skin!
This is a disguised « sanctuary », please don’t get fooled like I did! There is only one real sanctuary on this island!

My bf and I ended up at a what appears to be a knockoff version of the real elephant sanctuary. As soon as we drove in my bf felt something was not right. The elephants here had to kiss, bow, kneel for pic, drink milk from each guests, bathe w/guests, n even rode on; the staff here looked mean n elephants looked too discipline n scared. I was so upset that I started to google n discovered that there is only one ethical elephant sanctuary in Phuket n that can only be purchased thru their own website; not via tour agency etc. We only ended up here by a mistake of the sales person at the tour agency; she didn’t know any better. So pls, do your research beforehand as all the ones you see on youtube n at the tour agency are ALL knockoffs. Happy travels!
P.S The real one doesn’t make elephants do anything out of their element ie giving kisses etc..

Elephants are not meant to be rode on in any case but we heard whipping sounds. I doubt it was the staff being hit. I would strongly advise everyone to visit proper ethical elephant sanctuaries instead. If you need to ride on something, the ATV facility is next door.
