Ethical tiger encounter worth every penny
Jan 2020 • Couples
Amazing ethical experience to interact with tigers. The tigers had clean enclosures and were not sedated or mistreated at all. There were many handlers around, especially for the large older tigers, the handlers were quick to provide safety instructions to us, and played with with tigers like big cats to keep them entertained. If the tiger just wanted to sleep they let them do that as well.
Visits go according to the tiger's schedule, in the later afternoon the tigers are more active and visitors may not be allowed in with them. At mid day the tigers may be sleeping. After age 4 or 5 the tigers go to a sanctuary as they get too big and unpredictable.
It is worth the wait to interact with the tigers, we waited about 30 min, the wait for a tiger cub was over an hour. It costs a decent amount, but it is worth it and it also supports tiger conservation.
You can read about the experiences of people who worked at the sanctuary online to solidify this ethical animal encounter

TIGERS BEATEN IN THE FACE
Dec 2019 • Couples
Ignore all positive reviews!!! The tigers are not treated nicely at all. Whilst we were there we saw the tigers in the smallest cages with no food, water or toys. They were all obviously sedated as they barely moved and you’re an idiot if you think this is natural behaviour from a tiger!! We saw numerous members of staff beating the tigers with a stick across their faces to wake them up from sedation or to get the perfect picture. I witnessed one tiger crying out for help whilst being beaten. After my visit I spent the entirety of my holiday upset thinking of these poor animals and what they just go through on a daily basis. And guess what? It’s the tourism that’s paying for this awful animal abuse!! Please please don’t visit here, this animals are abused just for what? An Instagram picture? Please put your morals before your ego and thinking how many Instagram likes you’ll get.

DON'T GO THERE
Jan 2020
I read a review by this American or British young woman who said she worked there and the place and staff takes care of the wounded animals, etc. But when I went there I saw that the tigers so thin and so docile. One tiger had a badly infected eye, and the staff kept hitting him with a stick. The staff are cruel to them and the cages are so small. And the tour is so profitable they are buying even more animals (not just tigers). I know it's very tempting to take a photo with tigers, but please don't do it. Going there was one of the most shameful things I've done.

Hi Aizhan, sorry you feel this way, I don't recall one of the tigers having an eye infection but please rest assured that any health issues are swiftly treated by our veterinary team who are on hand every day for anything that may occur. Our team also ensure that our animals are the optimum weight for their health and we feed the tigers based on the amount that they need to stay healthy, if any animals begin to lose weight on their current diet then their food is increased. We do everything we can to ensure that our tigers are living healthy and comfortable lives.

Amazing experience
Jan 2020 • Friends
Whether or not the tigers here are drugged remains a topic of argument. My experience too is with a mixed feeling because the 2 tigers I got opportunity to meet face-to-face were sleepy throughout. However, the cubs in the next cage and the big tiger in the opposite cage were pretty active.
The overall experience was definitely amazing as you get a chance to come so close to these beautiful big cats. The trainers there are very attentive and before entering the cage you are guided about the Do's & Dont's.

Amazing!
Mar 2020 • Couples
My boyfriend and I just visited the Tiger kingdom. The older tigers were real sleepy, moray likely because tigers sleep 20 hours a day! And have a more nocturnal schedule. The 7month old toddlers were rambunctious and chewing on things and playing.
My boyfriend has been to a Sanctuary that drugged their animals and saw first hand how drowsy they were. These look like lazy sleepy cats to us!
If you go, I highly recommended cheetah. They are super playful and you can hold them and play with them there are no restrictions!

Research this place before going
Mar 2020 • Couples
We were recommended this by someone when on holiday in Phuket. We did little research thinking it was a animal sanctuary like others we have been to. It is not. Tiny cages, Tigers that seem worryingly docile and keepers that tiggle them and wind them up to make them slightly more animated. The staff are rude, unhelpful and I wished I had never handed over my money. I have learnt my lesson to research these tourist attractions as we left feeling quite upset at what we had just seen.

Hi EssexUkHoliday111, thank you for taking the time to leave a review. Our tigers are relaxed around humans, but it isn’t anything to worry about. We need them to be happy and healthy and this could not be achieved if we were mistreating them. They are housed in species-appropriate enclosures and we do all that we can to ensure that they do not get bored or stressed. I apologise that you found our staff to be unhelpful and we will be following up on this.

Are the tigers sedated or drugged, really enjoyed our visit there, but were told they were not drugged or sedated, are we right to believe this?

Our animals are not drugged, this is a rumour which is perpetuated by people on the internet who unaware of the facts. This is why in all the time that this rumour has been circulating, there has never been any evidence to corroborate it, even with many visitors and regular inspections by official bodies. If our animals were mistreated in such a way, they would be sick and dying, you cannot expect a tiger which is being sedated every day to remain healthy for very long. Yet our animals live long and healthy lives. Our keepers have been with the animals since they were young and have spent a lot of time building up mutual trust and respect. This is the reason why they are sociable, not through medication.

If a group of 3 wanted to go, since they all have to buy individual tickets, does that mean together they would only get 10 minutes with a tiger, or 30 since each ticket brings with it 10 minutes?
TigerKingdom-Thai

Hi Meg, each encounter session is per group rather than per individual so as a group you would have around 10-15 minutes with the tigers.

Hi, can anyone tell me if I can pay the 1,000 baht big tiger in cage fee and take my own photos to avoid the extra 500 baht professional photo fee that I don’t want anyway? Would just like to take my own photos, thanks!!
TigerKingdom-Thai

Hi, the photography service is an optional extra, you are allowed to take your phone and camera and take your own photos if you want. Although the photography service comes highly recommended as it allows you to get the full enjoyment from the experience without having to worry about clicking pictures.

Is there an entrance fee for someone just to look around but not go in any enclosures? And how much? Wanting to take picture with big tiger but I know my girlfriend won’t haha

A walk around ticket is 500 THB per person, though we would really recommend an Animal Encounter to get the full experience.
