it was pretty cool. Even with all the buzz of Patong, this place is like a little oasis of peace. The colors and vibes of the temple are something else – really makes you feel chilled out. Definitely a must-see if you’re looking to escape the chaos for a bit and soak in some culture. Plus, it's a great spot for some insta-worthy shots! Don’t miss out on this gem.

We didn't go inside but did walk around outside. It is a beautiful temple and worth visiting. I would recommend visiting.

It’s beautiful but we took our young children who were not that interested. It was also incredibly hot and we couldn’t go inside.

Beautiful, unique and serene temple open to the public. Be respectful and wear appropriate clothing. Also, there is a temple school on grounds. You can walk up the bell tower and into the meditation room, donations are appreciated.

Last week we went to Wat Chalong on an organised tour, but we went to this one on our own. It was amazing - we were the only ones there, apart from the cats, dogs, chickens and monks. It was so peaceful. The big temple wasn’t open but we still walked all around it and lit some incense at the shrines which were still open. Then we went up the amazing dragon stairs to the top temple which was open - complete with creepy waxwork monk (who we thought was real for a minute) and a cat asleep in the main Buddha’s lap. Really a much more special experience than the organised tour.

We had visited the Suwan Khiri Wong temple during our vacation in Phuket. This place has 2 temples dedicated to Lord Buddha. We liked the beautiful Pagoda style architecture of the main temple and intricate art work on the walls. But the main temple was closed at the time of our visit. We visited the other smaller temple and offered our prayers to the Lord.

Love seeing real Thai Culture in a country that unfortunately caters far too much for tourists these days..

Has anyone heard or know of the volunteering/helping roles at the temple with the monks? Would love more info!

Hi There!
Dont be mistaken, this Temple is TIINY and nothing compared to other Temples around Phuket. Monks generally do their rounds at about 6am in the morning. Women are generally not allowed to help them but exceptions are made (generally in Bangkok though). The whole time we stayed in Paton we did not see one single Monk since this is very much a Tourist town and the Thai traditions arent as aparent and celebrated as they are in other parts of Phuket. I guess you ask someone at your hotel to see if they can shed some light on this subject!
Hi, someone can tell me if there is a closing time? Thanks

No cost! All temples are open to the public and free to visit! Then of course you can buy items in some and make cash offers if you like, but its entirely up to you! They appreciate you keeping a respectful behaviour of course!
