About
Adjacent to Patong Beach, this buzzing and vibrant strip is a great place to start your Phuket pub crawl. Enter past the iconic Patong Beach sign and prepare your senses for the neon lights, throngs of tourists and touts, street vendors selling snacks, and dance anthems pumping from the plethora of go-go bars and clubs. Those planning to partake in the evening festivities can purchase skip-the-line tickets in advance for entry to various nightclubs. Bangla Road sees dense crowds, especially during the peak holiday season in December. Park yourself at a bar, grab a beer and watch the night unfold. – Tripadvisor

- Tony WDarwin, Australia4,006 contributionsAlways EntertainingEntertaining bordering on sometimes crazy. Diversity of people and many options for entertainment makes Bangla what it is. I love the Live music of New York and Star Bar, also the small lounge style drinking options. Music, people and colour it always offers fun.Visited October 2023Travelled with friendsWritten 3 October 2023
- Shane TSydney, Australia1,178 contributionsNot for the young.Yes seen this sort of thing before but not my cup of tea. We had my kids where my son it was a little too much - too noisy. My daughter was ok until she scraped her heel (magic Band-Aid worked a treat. I had fun walking but just opens your eyes to how many desperate old people out there. A must to see thoughVisited October 2023Travelled with familyWritten 17 October 2023
- Simone NSydney, Australia546 contributionsA memorable experience with such contrasts, like the difference between night and day!Such a contrast between night and day at this location. During the days, the road is open n so are the bars. U can wander along n check out the market stalls. At night it definitely comes alive! The road closes and out come the spruikers offering ping pong shows n cheaps drinks practically every step you take. Jjst politely say no thank you or shake your head n keep on walking. They are never over bearing n will then leave you alone. Have an open mind n enjoy the experience n take in all the sites. However dont try and have a conversation with a companion as the music playing in every bar n club is so loud! You can also have a bit of fun n have your photo taken with the famous ladyboys of Thailand. (You are required to give them 100 baht donation). Even if you dont want to drink or party in one of the hundreds of bars, take a stroll down Bangla Road just for the experience/atmosphere. Tip: it gets very crowded at night so be aware of your valuables/wallet etc. Im not saying it’s unsafe, but like other major tourist areas that are crowded, there are always the opportunistic thieves/pick pockets.Visited October 2023Travelled with friendsWritten 20 October 2023
- Alison WCamberley, United Kingdom22 contributionsEntertaining! As we entered this strip we were presented with a flyer that said ‘ Ping Pong & F**k show’ 🤣 which set the benchmark for the evening. We didn’t see any shows 🙁, we sat at the Irish Bar and had a decent meal and plenty to drink and people watched. This road is entertaining and a must visit whilst in Phuket.. not ideal for young kids though..Visited October 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 21 October 2023

Crowded after 8pm with tourists from all over the world, Chinese, Indians, Americans, Europeans, Aussies, Africans, etc.... you name it, u got it. Plenty of bars, a-gogo clubs, cannabis outlets, live music pubs, restaurants. Mostly drink at the bars and people-watching.Visited November 2023Travelled soloWritten 10 November 2023

Make sure to come see it for yourself if you are around! It’s also located right beside the beach near the Patong beach sign ! Has lots of currency exchange booths and activities booking booths .Visited December 2023Travelled soloWritten 11 December 2023
- Darth VaderFrance27 contributionsSad and fun place at the same timeI'va had confusing impression. On one hand it's fun place to hang out with friends: music, bars, drinks. On the other hand my it's painful to see all these people working there, their sad eyes pretending to have fun and obliged to entertain tourists. Especially I felt sick of disgusting white men who came there to "buy" people.Visited December 2023Travelled with friendsWritten 27 December 2023

People will sell you anything and dance bars are all over the place . Many shops incase one want to buy merchandise/ perfumes Etc . I had also gone during day and it was total opposite as what you are in night .Visited December 2023Travelled with familyWritten 6 January 2024

Nighttime: lots of people so be careful of your wallet and lots of ‘sex’ shows on offer. I didn’t like it but a lot of people do. Daytime: not so noisy and you can see the shops/market stalls/bars.Visited January 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 10 January 2024

All your research on Phuket will tell you that Bangla Road is the most popular street in Phuket. After checking it out, I can safely say it could work for some, but not for us. Loud music, ping pong show ads everywhere with people hounding you to see the free show, which mind you is not free. The vibe of the place is weird, screams cheap and can be avoided completely.

Nothing can prepare you for your first walk down Bangla Rd, but I recommend doing it at least once.
The day and night versions of this street are like chalk and cheese!
The day is mostly bargain shopping and tailors trying to convince you that you need a new suit. It is open to traffic in the day.
In the evening is when it really comes alive. It is closed to motor vehicles. Be prepared for locals to be in your face, waving advertising signs for cheap drinks and/or ping pong shows. Of course, you can still find a tailor and do some bargain shopping, there’s just less vendors. And it gets loud, like, really loud!

Phuket is a fantastic holiday destination, great clubs, food and all night entertainment. Don't get me wrong the Patong beach is fantastic, but Phuket's become a party destination over the years. With more clubs, go go bars and beer bars concentrated in Bangla road then anywhere, you are in for a good time. We visited from 28 December 2019 to 1 January 2020 and the the countdown parties on the beach with a spectacular stage and big sound, hosting global dj's, were spectacular.

Bangla is arguably one of the best locations to go have a great night with your friends. There are so many bars on offer that you can actually become overwhelmed by the choices. Do not get roped into the first happy hour deal offered to you, keep walking because I guarantee you that there will better deals at other bars and night clubs. There are ping pong shows on offer but be wary of the fact that when they say free entry, your first drink during the show will cost you approximately 900Baht. And also remember that the nightclubs do not really get going until after 11pm so go to a bar first or the local open air food market for some great and affordable meals.

Saturday evening 15th February and we visited this busy road.
We did not venture very far down the street, it was extremely loud. There was live music blasting out from venues, which could be heard before we even got there.
People were shouting at us, from inside bars, to come inside. This definitely is the Party street.
We did visit the Night Market/ Street Food Market, mainly for some respite from the deafening sounds on the Street.
We soon left Bangla Road in search of somewhere quieter.

Very busy road lots of bars and clubs.
Be sure to pick out happy hour bars as you’ll get BOGOF on cocktails, some bars don’t offer this and you’ll pay double.
Ping pong show- Free entry to most but they’ll try and charge you 1000 baht for 1 beer (1 required per person to watch show for an hour) refuse this price and you can get them down to 400 baht each. Drinks after first one are 250+ each.
They’ll kick you out after an hour if you don’t buy another. (very strict on this)

Bangla road - we came back as we had a great time here a few years ago however it has changed . The street food that we so enjoyed last time has now gone and replaced by a food market . Lost all it's appeal . The Traders - so much more aggressive and less willing to bargain . The Loud Music is Louder . Our favourite Bar during the day is the Tiger Bar where we always got good service , cheap beers and a refresher towel . We did not visit any Bars at night .
The road is filthy and smelly but I suppose that is part of the attraction .
I think this is our last visit .

Went there with my family and then solo after that ...the hype which was created about this market was definitely a hype ...there was nothing exceptional apart from street food like pancakes and ice cream roll.
The market becomes sleazy after the sunset and I found it difficult to even stay there for more than 5 mins. The place starts stinking and with so many people at one place /street , the stink gets on to you and it seems that rather than the street , people are stinking . Absolutely not a place to visit with family after the sunset

If something "spicy" is what you're after then Bangla road is the place to be... With many side street markets to gorgeous men and women.. Some strutting their dance moves atop a bar, bands playing, someone tugging at your arm for a "special" party...the energy and vibrant activities.. Are you ready :-)

The walk only street ,noisy, disco lights, street dancers, the pole dancers ,street food, crazy shopping and bargaining, some rude experience as well with shop keepers not client centric.
The music is deafening to the ears, the booze flowing across every outlet practically ,hoardes of tourist and fun seekers, a place that can give the unexplored desires wings across age groups.
A kilometer of madness

Hi guys going to Phuket this December and always dreamed in having sex with a gorgeous Thai. Although got my wife coming with me is there a way to do it without her knowing? I know it seems rude but I go crazy every time I see a Thai girl? And my wife would let me as she knows that I love Asian woman but would like to do it without her knowing so wouldn’t affect her.
I would like to do it just for fun
Cheers

Hi guys going to Phuket with my wife but always dreamed to have sex with a Phuket girl. Is this possible and if so how can I do it?
Written 13 October 2019
Just get a massage and the right girl will do anything you want. The cheapest massage with no "extras" is 200 B or about $6 USD for an hour. There are dozens of massage parlors and probably not a "best one". With the hour massage they will give you a straight massage for about 30 min or whatever they they start touching you and talking you into more. Of course it costs more but it's all negotiable. If you don't have enough cash with you they will take you to an ATM after. Most of the girls are probably late 20's to 30's and into their 40's. Some may be older it is difficult to tell their age.
Beware of the lady boys they are usually taller and more aggressive such as grabbing your arm and pulling you to their shop. I'm surprised your wife would let you do this but what do I know.
Written 15 October 2019
It varies where you go Phuket is the more expensive area. There are web sites you can go to to view call girls. These girls are usually more attractive and will come right to your condo or hotel.

bike taxi is cheaper but if you are more than 2 persons better take a tuktuk, its cheaper
Written 21 April 2019
There isn't any parking close to Bangla Road area, people just park on the side of the road. There are no "spots" as such. Most tourists don't take rental cars, but either use tuk-tuk, Grab app for taxis, scooter taxis of if you want to DIY then take a rental scooter. They're more readily available and much easier to drive than a car (although if you haven't driven in Thailand, I'd recommend not doing that in your first time)
