I bought the airport bus ticket at the arrival hall, 90 baht per person to Krabi Town vs 300b for a taxi, it is a good saving for solo traveller. Waited about 20min for the bus to fill and driver did a petrol pump stop. Took nearly an hour to reach town, I had to alight at the Provincial Court and wait for a songthaw to pick me to my hotel (no extra charges), while the bus continue to Ao Nang with the rest of the passengers.
The return journey was much easier. I learnt to request the hotel reception help me call and book the same airport bus service which came to pick me direct from the hotel and no vehicle transfer needed. Only paid the driver 90b as we arrived at the airport.
Note: keep the ticket bought at airport for their contact number.

I touched down Krabi Airport around 5.30 p.m. and planning to go to my hostel in Ao Nang Beach. Once I came out of the arrival hall, there are counters for transfer from the airport to places like Krabi City and Ao Nang (I don't remember other places because those two were the only places I wish to go). There are Airport Transfer via Bus, Taxi, and shared van.
As I wasn't tight in schedule and would like to experience different way of transporting, I just chose the Airport transfer via bus that cost me 150 Baht per person per way. If I am not mistaken, the shared van cost around the same per person while for the taxi, it cost 600 baht per taxi to Ao Nang beach. By using bus airport transfer, the bus will stop at Krabi City first before alighting passengers at Ao Nang. So it will take longer time to arrive Ao Nang, but for me it was a good experience.
Once I bought the ticket at the counter, I was asked to go the outside of the airport where a person will wait for all the passengers with the ticket. Please keep your ticket with you because different area will be provided with different ticket color and you need to show it to your bus driver. Back to the PIC outside the airport, he asked me where to go and I specified my hostel name. I waited around 15 mins (the other con of using this transportation and there is no like benches or proper place to sit while waiting) before boarding the bus. The interior is so simple. There is ample places at the back to place your luggage I think. The bus is also clean but not too fancy.
If I remember it well, the bus stopped at only one place in Krabi City where all passengers who bought ticket to Krabi City get down here. For those with Ao Nang ticket, the bus stopped at the passengers' accommodation as given earlier.
The journey from the Airport to Ao Nang beach took around one hour. For my return journey, I booked an airport transfer via shared van at my hostel which cost 150 baht also. The van stopped to take passengers from different locations in Ao Nang before directly head to the airport.

The airport transfer was so easy and cheap.
For me myself, I was looking for a reasonable cheap price to get to Ao Nang. Once reached the airport, and after immigration, you will find that there are so many counters offering the shuttle bus to everywhere.
Just pick anyone and all are reliable, and they will send you directly to the hotel with only 150 THB.

Do not take this transfer. We waited for an hour to even depart, the driver stopped multiple times along the way to take care of his personal stuff and we took forever to arrive. Taxi was just 200 TBH more and its worth it

Arrived ten days ago at this modest regional airport. Very clean and well organised. As international travellers we were supposed to pick up bags from a different point to others, how refreshing that as we were beginning to think we had lost our bags a staff member helped us out

There are many options for transfer from Krabi airport to hotel... You can take share mini van or book full taxi (500-600 thb). We took share mini van in which they charged 150 thb per person around 8-9 people can sit . We waited for half an hour for mini van to get full. It took 1 hours to drop at our hotel near ao nang Beach.
Shared mini van tickets can be purchased inside the airport from arrival area.
There are also several counters selling taxi tickets for drop off.

We got on the 19:15 evening flight to Krabi from Bangkok. Upon arrival at 20:30, the small Krabi airport was mostly done for the day. Most of the stores were closed. This was probably because of the rainy season.
I didn’t book any transportation from the airport to the hotel so I walked to the taxi waiting area that was just outside to the right. Not knowing the taxi I asked was a private taxi and not a metered taxi, I needed to pay 600TBH up front for the fare.
To make a long story short, the fee may have been double the amount need to get to Ao Nang downtown but the ride in the rain was nice and safe, and the driver was friendly, too.
Safely arriving to our hotel, I paid a small tip for his service and safety.
Maybe I could have got an discount if I negotiated but still a reasonable fee without one.
The ride was more then thirty minutes.

The trip from Krabi Town is about 15 minutes by taxi which dropped us at the International Departure of the Airport Complex. At the time it was crowded and we could not help noticing that the Airport is expanding another building. The first impression is that the plaza is rather small with small retail stalls. There were more drink stalls than cooked food stalls or rather only one reasonably big food and drink restaurant, Yellow Orchid located at the upper level of third floor, popularly referred to as the fourth level. On the 2nd level/3rd floor is the checkin counters on the left with the Departure gave next to it. As soon as we proceed to the Departure gate, the two Security personnel will ask for water bottles to be cleared of any water. Then the security checks requiring belt and all personal belongings to be placed on trays to be screened. The focus seemed to be on power banks which the security personnel will inspect.
Walk passed the security checks is the Immigration Checkpoints. Here the personnels were fast and efficient. Making sure there is no idle Immigration Officer, the Supervisor directed us to the vacant counter including the counter for crews. So the clearance was fast unlike entering Malaysia.

If you are looking for a private taxi from airport to Ao Nang. You could locate the taxi counter at 500thb each way, if you are using van sharing is 150thb each way.
Some food is located at the arrival and departure lounge. Airport is relative small - clearing customers will take you less than 30 min
