Temple to see absolutely, for its remarkable architecture and embellished relief decorations. Located at the epicenter of Chiang Rai City, Wat Klang Wieng is home to the sanctuary that is originally the city's pilar as well as a spectacular temple complex built in a contemporary...More

It's on the list of wats, so you stop by as you walk around. It is unique with some life size sculptures for rice planting, guardian, etc. At the entrance, there is a small tree shaded resting are with benches and tables. This made this...More

This didn’t look like too much from the outside but it is actually a large complex. The temple is lovely and red and behind it is a pretty white and gold monument. Definitely take some time to explore the grounds!

Striking architecture, ornate decorations, spectacular temple complex built in true Lanna style. Built in 1432, this temple has ornate grill work on its red facades, not a normal colour for temples, located not far from the Clock Tower, a beautiful place to visit

Nice temple, peaceful surrounding and quiet area, although the area can get quite busy at certain times because of an adjacent school.

I walked around the city of Chiang Rai and visited some temples. This was one of them. Liked the statues.

There is so much going on within this complex that it is hard to take it all in. Mainly red or white with gold decoration, it contains so much within a small area and because of this you are able to see a lot of...More

It's a nice temple. But still an average temple that you can find many in this and other Thai cities. But if you are in the area it's worth spending a few minutes here.
