YOU don't often need a plan to get round a city temple complex but you do here. When I visited Wat Klang Wiang the first thing that caught my eye was a large area plan of the temple which highlighted more than twenty halls, pillars,...More

Striking architecture, ornate decorations, spectacular temple complex built in true Lanna style. Built in 1432, this temple has ornate grill work on its red facades, not a normal colour for temples, located not far from the Clock Tower, a beautiful place to visit

Nice temple, peaceful surrounding and quiet area, although the area can get quite busy at certain times because of an adjacent school.

I walked around the city of Chiang Rai and visited some temples. This was one of them. Liked the statues.

It's a nice temple. But still an average temple that you can find many in this and other Thai cities. But if you are in the area it's worth spending a few minutes here.

I was looking for the Wat Phra Kaeo when I saw this temple. Located next to a school, it was easy to find it. The signage in English is an additional benefit. Though I'm not a Buddhist, I quietly said my prayers, took pictures and...More

I was visiting Chiang Rai as part of a Buddhist Temple excursion and Wat Klang Wiang was deffinately on my list of temples to visit. If you have time, I think you'll enjoy spending a few minutes there!

There are countless wats in Thailand, and this isn't one I would go out of my way to visit. Like most, it is quite beautiful, though not extraordinary. It is probably the biggest one in the village of Phrao.
