If you are going to Chiang Rai this place is one of the two unmissable sites in my view. To think it is only 20 years old and the construction and imagination are incredible. One of the only reasons to visit Chiang Rai.

Much depends on the individual, some look at it in awe, some would just be there for pictures. For ladies with shorts, you may rent a white sarong at the shop outside for a small fee.

Great place to add to Thailand's many beautiful Wats. Artistry and imagination not to be missed. Touch of humor only a plus.

The artistic detail in this temple is incredible. Although the temple grounds are relatively small, there is a lot to see. As usual, it is much cheaper and more enjoyable if you see the temple without a tour. If you go before 11am or in...More

Before I visited this temple, I did not expect this temple so beautiful. The beauty of this temple was not clearly recognised on the photo. This is a must visit place in Chiang Rai.

A beautiful & meaningful temple. We even took photos with the artist who designed this temple. Thanks to our tour guide.

The whole place is very packed. It looks amazing when you first saw it on photos, but it's really nothing additionally special. Architecturally it is very beautiful, but again, it's a modern replica of an ancient temple. So you cannot expect to see any historical...More

We were here during the Chinese New Year; so perhaps our experience was different than that of others who come at a different time of year. In any event, many Chinese were visiting when we were there. The construction of the temple began in 1997...More

I have never known anyone to have done this .I expect special permissions would have to be obtained from both the Abbot and Chalermchai the artist. These permissions would probably take time and cost money.
