This temple dates from the 1990's and has little resemblance to the traditional Buddhist temples we saw throughout Thailand. There are all kinds of incongruous elements incorporated into the decoration. The grounds are beautifully landscaped and are overrun with hordes of visitors. Overall, I thought...More

I have been living in china for three years, and have traveled to Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, and all over Thailand. I have seen more temples than I can count, and am getting pretty tired of them. I was told to make an exception here. And...More

This would have to be the most amazing temple we saw in all of Thailand, with both western & Thai influences. Was simply amazing

The temple is situated along a highway and designed by a well-known Thai artist. It is an elaborate piece of work , soothes the eye were it not for the hordes of tourists (yes, I am one of them...). Still a must see when in...More

We stopped to visit the temple on our way to Chiang Rai. Our guide told us that this is not a century old construction but a newer one. Ok. Let's see something different. Entering the temple you find yourself in a magical, white fairytale land....More

I have never known anyone to have done this .I expect special permissions would have to be obtained from both the Abbot and Chalermchai the artist. These permissions would probably take time and cost money.

Wait on main road for a 20B songtao to bus station. Then at bus station take another songtao to Ban Due (about 15-20B). Get off at road to Baan Daam, walk 1km.
