It's mostly flocked by the local Thai tourists, so it's less crowded and less "touristy" compared to nearby Pattaya. I saw less than 5 farangs during my stays there. We chose to stay at Bang Saen because it's about 15 mins drive to Chonburi town...More

We love Bang Saen and we bring visitors from overseas whenever they come to Thailand. The beach however is getting dirtier and dirtier, I can't understand why it isn't cleaned? We were really disappointed at all of the rubbish over what would otherwise be a...More

Further down the beach, away from the beach chairs and umbrellas, there is a nice walk (concrete footpath rather than a wooden boardwalk!) along the seafront with the waves slapping against the rocks. It's less crowded at weekends and is a pleasant stroll.

Loads of deckchairs and food stands. Banana boats, rings etc. nice sand. Seems family friendly, very busy at weekends as it is close to Bangkok.

I agree with Vince M - it would be better to get a hotel near the airport (there are lots of inexpensive ones that will pick you up from the airport) and travel the next day. If you do decide to travel to Bang Saen directly... More
