I would say yes - there were plenty of 60 year olds out on safari when I was there. Try and stick to lodges instead of mobile tented camps. The energy level needed to enjoy your safari is more important than actually being able to get around, since you're pretty much in a safari jeep all day. Also, if you do a private tour, your driver will be able to cater to your needs. For example if you would rather go back to the lodge for a couple hours for rest/hot lunch, you can do that instead of staying out through the lunch hours and being cooped up in the jeep. They are good at tailoring the safari tours to the clients so they will work around your needs!
