Very unique location. The mountain of God with the pink lake Natron close by, the surroundings look out of this world.

This was an experience we will never forget! Climb throughout the night, sunrise on the summit and tough downhill hike - definitely not for everyone. At the same time we are not the hyper sporty once. (We do regular sports twice a week to give...More

I am scared of heights, so not sure why I had decided to do this with my friends... Beast of a mountain. Very steep and challenging. I personally did not summit, but even from where I managed to get to the views were fantastic!

We didn't climb the Ol Doinyo Lengai crater. Only flew around it with our small aircraft on our route from Arusha to Katavi. What an impressive view and most beautiful Vulcano. Fascinating to be able to see down into the active crater with its latest...More

I climbed this amazing volcano with two others in August 2017. We stayed in the Maasai Giraffe Ecolodge, started climbing around 1am (a little later than it should have been) and were just up for sunrise. It is a very tough climb, with a very...More

Took time off the normal safari routes to visit this location. The volcano is gorgeous and Lake Natron is breathtaking. The drive to get to Ol Doinyo Lengai is a bit bumpy and took around 4 hours, however, we definitely felt that the trip was...More

This was the first mountain I have ever trekked. A bit rough considering I did not prepare for it and I have not been doing much exercise for a while. Left to climb at midnight, and got back around 11 am. Climbed with Linga Kerey...More

We(My girlfriend and I) attempted the climb in February 2017 but unfortunately we couldn't reach the summit and after a grueling 4 hour walk, we had to return back. Apparently its harder to climb this than to climb Mt. Kilimanjaro itself. We did climb Mt.Kilimanjaro...More

We climbed Lengai in December and had a good experience. Only down side were our guides. You have to use guides arranged by the village elders and like ours didn't really want to climb. I would recommend warm clothes especially for the rest stop near...More

Sorry for such a late answer. You start climbing at midnight and you summit at 6am, for sunrise. You will then be down for lunch. Worth staying in Lake Natron a few days though as there are some great hikes around there
