Great last few days!

Very much enjoyed the beautiful dining area as well as the stylish bedroom and bath. The hotel was clean, well maintained and most comfortable. The staff was very nice and welcoming! I also enjoyed the nature and views while walking around lake Duluti. This is a gem close to Kilimanjaro airport and Arusha! Hats off to the staff there! I will hope to be back soon!

A nice walk just outside Arusha
Mar 2020
This lake is just outside Arusha and makes a nice excursion for a few hours. Lake Duluti is a small, but deep crater lake and you can walk all the way round it in about an hour and a half. The path, being on the edge of the crater wall sloping down to the water can be a bit slippery and difficult in places if you have difficulty walking but otherwise was OK including for a 7 year old.

We had a guide to show us the way and point out the birds, although you can't really get lost as there is just one path going all the way round. On the way you can see birds, monkeys and lizards. There are a couple of nice viewpoints where you can see Mt Meru and Mt Kilmanjaro, clouds permitting. near the end there is a cafe you can visit which serves basic food and, I think, provides some canoes.

There is a small fee to be paid at an office at the entrance of the walk. There are two access roads : a difficult one following the main sign to the attraction and an easier one via the cafe, following Lake Duluti Road.

Perfect Sunday Chill spot
Dec 2019
Best way to spend a lazy afternoon canoeing on Lake Nduluti. The place is also very well maintained, Manicured lawns and trees, The canoes were in good shape but the Life Jackets were a bit worn out. We made hilarious ' row your boat' clips with the crew as well.

great walk for birding enthusiasts

Make sure you find a guide who knows his (or her) birds and you will have a great time here. It is an easy walk, you need half a day or more if you walk slowly and try to spot forest birds.

Great walk with lots of birds and reptiles

We did a walk around the lake with our two children. It was so nice as our daughter found a big monitor lizard and our son a baby one. We also saw a baby green mamba and many birds like kingfishers, hamerkops, cormorants, fisheagles, herons and ducks. The views are beautiful as well with a backdrop of mount meru and Mount Kilimanjaro

Amazing Walking in Arusha
Aug 2018
Lake Duluti is a crater lake located near a small town of Tengeru in Arumeru District inside Arusha region of Tanzania, the lake is surrounded by a forest reserve. Swimming at the lake is not allowed due to the same water being used by the locals who live around the area; the main activities at the lake are a 2hours hiking through the whole perimeter of the lake with the ranger’s company which also provide a spectacular views of both Mount Meru and Kilimanjaro and canoeing which takes 2 to 3hours depending on the sailing mode selected. The lake covers an area of 63hactors with unconfirmed depth scientifically and receives water from underground sources and seasonal rainfall. Fish and different types of birds including Grey herons, Fish eagles, ospreys, egrets and kingfishers are the common birds to be spotted.

We had a very nice walk around Lake Duluti. We enjoyed the walk around the lake followed by a soda over looking the water. Close to Arusha!
