The attraction of the park is of course the gorge itself. Great views, great trails to walk. Very nice butterflies. And an even more spectacular road that crosses the mountain in cse you do the drive to sun Moon Lake. Don't miss the eternal spring shrine in the early morning when there are no tourists!

You need to apply for the limited quota to visit the most dangerous part of the hiking. However, the view and experience was worthwhile. I was the first one going on that morning and managed to saw a lot of wild birds/animals around you !!! However, be prepared as it could be dangerous !!

Take at least a few hours to walk, to drive, to experience the George, on the dry day is probably the best. Plenty of view point for taking photos. This is the marble mountain, you can see the surface of the cliff that show you the real marble.

Easy hiking trail with fantastic views. Can easily spend a day, better to hire a taxi as the park is huge and the trail is scattered

It rained the day we went. Was bummed at first but it turned out to be a light rain all day. We stayed in town and it took about 30 min to drive up there. It was great peaceful and lovely to see the mist on the mountain. We did the highlights, Shakadang Trail, Swallow Grotto, Yanzikou Trail, Baiyang Trail,... More

A very large area protected just three hours from Taipei in Hualien. By plane only about 50 minutes but you can have a lot of trails and visits to the famous marble gorges among verdant green mountains and river. A must for nature lovers

Blessed with good weather for my solo hike, the landscape was fabulous and definitely worth a day of walking. The following information is applicable if you choose to take public transport instead of getting a taxi or motorbike. Took the shuttle bus (1133A) from Hualien Train Station (NTD250 for a day) at around 8am. The shuttle bus only runs every... More

One of the wonders of the world. It is a must to visit. Stay in Hualien and only a short trip to Taroko Gorge National Park. I highly recommend anyone to come and visit this beautiful and amazing place. It is a comfortable place to stay and have a car and walk on the trails to the beautiful temples there.
